The Orioles just signed Ryan Ripken, a good p.r. move
No surprises here though.
I suspect the next batch will have more familiar names.
Good luck to all those guys. Ryan Ripken certainly got his chances, to the point that it seemed that he was blocking Conner Simonetti from a move up to Auburn last summer. Dulin hit pretty well at Auburn after being drafted in 2015 but couldn’t repeat his success in 2016. He might have gotten a longer look with the organization if the Nats hadn’t drafted so many infielders in 2016. He got passed pretty quickly by Noll in particular.
Noll to potomAc ??
Mejia sure didn’t ace Potomac so may get a redo. They wouldn’t have a lot of INF options at Harrisburg, though. Maybe Davidson gets a look at 2B there?
Anyway, my guess would be that Noll would start back at Hagerstown, looking to move up quickly.
I’m also curious where Sagdal is going to play. I think he’ll be at Potomac, but at what position? Maybe 1B?
Fulu and Joseph names not on Chiefs roster today.
Could that mean Perez to Cuse
And Davidson to Sens ?
I guess luke brass happy with Snyder / Joseph , Fulu 3 b
Options even with 50 game manny out but no Stephen Persz at Cuse option ??
Maybe Fulu plays ORG guy @
AA to start season ??
Simonetti and Franco Hags 1b
Clint Robinson just accepted assignment to Syracuse. He’ll be on injury watch for Zimmerman or Lind.
That’s good news. Very glad he’s staying in the organization. It would have been difficult for him to catch on elsewhere at this late date, particularly after a poor spring.
Chris Marrero made the Giants, as part of a LF platoon. (Insert jokes about his blazing speed here.) He was drafted in 2006 and hasn’t been in the bigs since a 2013 cup of coffee with the Nats. He must have logged a few million minor-league bus miles. Anyway, good for him.
Difo has told media members that he’s been told he made the team. Presumably, that puts Taylor back at Syracuse, again. Yes, I’ve been hard on Taylor at times, but in this particular case, I thought they would keep him for the OF.
Probably because the Nats see Difo more as a “super utility” guy like Emilio Bonifacio, whereas they are still going to need a regular left fielder, next season if not earlier, and if Taylor is going to get a chance to be that guy he’ll have to rip it up playing everyday in AAA this year.
Now the word is that both Difo and Taylor are making the roster, with a bench of six. That’s probably bad news for Guthrie, plus they’ll have to make a move with another pitcher to keep both. The rumor has been that they’ll option Ross until they need a fifth starter.
My guess is Difo is up until they’re sure Rendon can play, then he goes down for Guthrie
Ross is going to Cuse until the Nats need a 5th starter (April 9). Would guess that the Nats want to keep Difo on the roster until they are sure Rendon can play.
No kidding Corredor jumps over
Simonetti for 1b gig?
Roster might not be done until opening day , Luke ?
XST takes ?
Lannon working on new delivery ?
Martin perfecting knuckler?
Pleff getting over injury ?
Welcome home AAron Barrett!!
