Chien Ming-Wang coughed up three runs in the 6th, but this time it was to the benefit of the Nats as Syracuse held off Gwinnett, 5-2. Scott McGregor allowed one run on seven hits and two walks over six and 2/3rds inning to pick up the win, with an assist (ok, fine: hold) from Mitch Lively who stranded two runners to finish the 7th. Matt den Dekker led the Chiefs offense with a 3-for-5 night while Emmanuel Burriss singled and walked to push his hit streak to 11.

Harrisburg also broke through for three runs in the middle innings, turning a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead as they doubled up Reading, 6-3.
Richard Bleier was roughed up for a pair of runs in the 1st but settled down to go seven full, retiring 11 straight batters at one point. He gave up four hits, no walks, and struck out three. Derrick Robins reached base three times with a walks and two singles, while Ricky Hague also got two safeties as the Sens totaled nine hits and four walks on offense.

Brandon Miller went deep twice while Dakota Bacus turned in five strong innings on short rest as Potomac split the series with Frederick with a 5-1 victory. Miller also walked and was 2-for-3 overall, as was Khayyan Norfork to lead the P-Nats attack. Despite throwing on three days’ rest, Bacus turned in his best outing: one run on two hits and two walks over five with seven strikeouts, which earned him his first win of ’15. Erik Davis and Tyler Mapes both turned in two scoreless innings of relief to finish off the Keys.

The Drive rallied for two with two out in the 7th to snap a 3-3 tie and held on for a 5-4 win over the Suns. Luis Reyes got the start and was charged with three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four. The loss went to Mario Sanchez, who gave up two on three hits in the 7th after a scoreless 6th. Hagerstown scored four times without an RBI hit, thanks to a pair of sacrifice flies by Grant DeBruin and “Orange” Marmolejos-Diaz, an error on Austin Davidson’s steal of third, and Osvaldo Abreu getting pushed over and across by back-to-back groundouts to second after his leadoff double.
