Estarlin Martinez is having a pretty good season in the NYPL at 20. Above .800 OPS so far.

how do you let Nelo walk 3 straight batters with 2 out to walk in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth. Given the troubles this club has been experiencing don’t you need a quick hook and an alternate plan to go to?????

Could Corey Brown become a trade chip for another starter? Maybe packed with Tyler Moore?

If you’re talking trading for another SP in lieu of losing Stras, I wouldn’t be worried losing those two guys… more worried about losing a high prospect SP – Karns or Mayer. Because to get a Greinke or a Dempster, you would have to part with one of them, AND maybe Skole or Goodwin. I don’t suspect we’re as desperate as say Mets, Dodgers, Detroit and Boston. I could see Pittsburgh and Cinci in a bidding war, too. I doubt our FO is prepared (or has the mindset) to duke it out with desperate teams like these who will sell the farm to rent a player for 3 months. I think we have the talent to make it pretty far as is. I don’t see us as an active buyer this year.

Doubt Rizzo goes hard after either of those guys. But I think that’s way too big of a package to give up for Dempster.

          The Cubs won’t 😉

Certainly, but the addition another wild card is going to make this a seller’s market. I’m not much for speculating on who the parent club will acquire, but I’m not expecting to write about who “we” got so much as who “we’ll” lose.

Any news on the health of Wirkin Estevez? He went on the DL quite a while ago and I haven’t heard anything about him since.

My guess is surgery at this point. Dupra had surgery earlier this month per his Twitter feed.

Also… Rendon is playing today in the GCL. Guess he’s finally getting back to rehabbing.

Good find & that’s great to see…Hopefully he can get healthy and be our AFL exemption(similar to how we sent Z. Walters last year) this year.
