Five Senators Named to Eastern League All-Star Team

June 29, 2011

Brad Peacock and Tyler Moore are two, who else made the squad?

Rosters for the 2011 Eastern League All-Star Team were announced today and five Harrisburg Senators made the squad:

• RHP Erik Arnesen

• RHP Brad Peacock

• 1B Tyler Moore

• OF-1B Bill Rhinehart

• OF Archie Gilbert

The 2011 E.L. All Star Game will be held at the home stadium of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on July 13th. Peacock was also named to the Futures Game that will be held on July 10th at the home stadium of the Arizona Diamondbacks. It is believed to be the first All Star team honors for for all but Archie Gilbert, who Arnesen, Peacock and Moore. Archie Gilbert was named to 2010 Southern League All-Star Game for Midland, while Rhinehart was a 2008 Sally League All-Star for Hagerstown.

Rhinehart also made the 2008 Sally All-Stars and was the Star of Stars that game as he went 3-3 with a HR and 3 RBIs

Thanks, Max – there’s a reason I chose “believe” — I had a feeling I might be wrong, as I couldn’t remember if Rhinehart had been called up before or after the ASG in ’08. All I do remember is that he played for the P-Nats for just a week before Bowden rushed him on up.

no worries…if I wasn’t scouring the last 3-4 years of all-star rosters for that very info I wouldn’t have known either.

I’m creating an Arnesen Mania group, that dude doesn’t deserve the OG tag, he produces!

Arneson has been back and forth (along with Mandel) between Syracuse and Harrisburg. What else are you going to think?

Arnesen is a guy that I think could make it in the majors as a reliver, but I dont see him making it as a starter. He and Reinhart are two guys I dont consider “prospects”, but also dont consider them OG’s

I agree 100%! I’ve been saying that for a while now. I hope he gets a promotion to AAA soon; he deserves it.

Well deserved all around. Maybe now Arnesen will get more mileage $$ when they jerk him around from one level to the next.

    The Rhinehart Mafia lives!

I hope this helps break Tyler out of his slump. Time for another 2nd half rampage.

Brad Peacock & Archie Gilbert have been solid all season & earned their spots; The additions of Arnesen, Moore & Rhinehart to the roster are a bit suprising, and may be due to League standing. I’m also shocked that Lombardozzi wasn’t named then replaced, as his offensive numbers (a .309/.366/.454 slash & 40RS in 65GP) were more than worthy, imo.

To paraphrase Rodney Dangerfield, “I tellya, Lombo gets no respect”.

They don’t do that…anyone who was promoted (and there have been a few even this week – Fedroff, Mercer) before the announcement doesn’t get named and then replaced.

Mafia members, assemble! I believe Rhinehart can still make the majors as a utility type player – he is a solid hitter with plus power – can play OF, 1B (and pitcher in a 16th inning pinch). I bet he could kick Bixler’s butt at both the plate and in the outfield.
