Destin Hood Named To Carolina League All-Star Team
Destin Hood gets the call to go to California
For the second straight year, Potomac’s right fielder will be going to the in the Carolina/California League All-Star game. And for the second straight year, that man will be the sole P-Nat player on the roster.
Destin Hood gets the honor/obligation of making the trip to Modesto, CA for the 2011 exhibition. His manager, Matthew LeCroy, and Potomac trainer Allan Wood will be joining him.
Hood is currently batting .269/.373/.453 in 58 games, his 19 doubles good for 2nd place in the Carolina League and 32 BB’s is third-best.
Congrats to Destin, hopefully he builds on a decent 1st half and turns it into a great second half!
Let’s be honest – there isn’t a player on Potomac who deserves to be an all star. Lehman has been the only consistent player, but you can’t close when your team never wins. I’m not sure that Hood was the most deserving of the honor. But someone had to go so that the team is represented.
And speaking of which, Lehman just got promoted . . .
If he’s hitting .826OPS at his age and the speed and defense are improving why isn’t he worthy? You folks have seen him closer that I have. I just have the stats, though. Seems to me, he’s the one who is trending upward of those outfielders. The disappointment is that Perez hasn’t proven worthy yet. What do you season ticket holders think his deal is?
