Catching Up On Transactions

June 30, 2011

A few moves in Syracuse, a trade from Auburn, a pticher moves up from Haggerstown to Potomac.

With multiple sources reporting that J.C. Romero has been signed and will report to Syracuse, here’s a look at recent transactions that have occurred since our last update.

SYRACUSE
• OF Rick Ankiel assigned from GCL Nationals
• LHP Lee Hyde transferred to Inactive List
• LHP J.C. Romero assigned from Washington Nationals

POTOMAC
• RHP Neil Holland assigned from the Hagerstown Suns

• RHP Trevor Holder placed on 7-Day DL
• IF Jose Lozada placed on 7-Day DL

AUBURN
• C Miguel Perez traded to Indianapolis Indians
• RHP Gregory Holt assigned to Doubledays

There have been multiple whispers about a Suns pitcher being promoted to Potomac, but I have yet to get an official confirmation. With a home game tonight, I’ll be on the watch for an unfamiliar face and/or uniform number in the ‘pen. As always, if I learn anything before I leave tonight or see anything overnight, I’ll post an update in this space.

UPDATE: As first identified in our comments, Neil Holland was indeed the pitcher moved from the Hagerstown to the Potomac roster. Of course, no corresponding moves were listed on MiLB.com, which has been par for the course this season.

UPDATE #2: The shoes have dropped for the P-Nats, as Jose Lozada and Trevor Holder were placed on the 7-Day DL. The two moves leave the Potomac roster at 24, which is one short of the Carolina league limit. Eighth-round pick Gregory Holt was assigned to the Auburn Doubledays, which is at 29, one short of the NYPL limit.

Lee Hyde is a lefty I think?

I should just put “P” and I’ll never screw that up, right?

Have to wonder what this means for Doug Slaten? Apparently, Severino is pitching better if last night is any indicator?

Sue It has to be Manno, zero reason for him to pitch another inning at Hagerstown

He’d be the easiest one to spot in the bullpen, so long as he’s not standing next to a (bean)pole.

the pitcher is Neil Holland… wait and see.

I’d love to see Holland in Potomac, as he’s one of my boys, but I’m willing to wait. A back-end combo of Smoker-Holland-Nelo for now, and the possibility of Smoker-Holland-Manno at some point… drool, slobber, drool… mmmm, doughnuts on the scoreboard.

Neil holland is the pitcher. Just confirmed it with daubach. 🙂

And he also told me when I asked about Manno that they had too many righties. Manno might be in Hagerstown…unless a move to Hburg?

Harrisburg currently has VanAllen & McCoy as LRP’s; I’d worry about asking a pitcher like Manno to make the lo-A to AA jump all at once. That kind of a jump is statistically harder for hitters, but not exactly easy for a pitcher either.

TBRF Manno is a lefty and you are on the money to many leftys in the Potomac Bullpen

Testa,Smoker, and now Clegg. .. You might see them bring Manno to Harrisburg

oops, just realized I typed righties…..should have been lefties! Did that sitting at the game last night—too many beers!
