Matt Skole DOB: 7/30/89 Ht. 6’4″ Wt. 230 Bats: L Throws: R Career Stats |
A freak injury in the first week of the season put Skole on the shelf for the rest of the regular season with an injury to his wrist and elbow of his left (non-throwing arm). His performance in the AFL was disappoint- ing but not when you consider his lack of AA experience, not to mention his health. Scouts love his power and still believe he’ll develop to be an average hitter despite the K rate of about one per game for his career. Look for him to return to Harrisburg in April. |

Shawn Pleffner Born: 8/17/1989 Ht. 6’5″ Wt. 225 Bats: L Throws: R Career Stats |
Injury-prone but has shown power and patience when healthy. That’s the skinny on Pleffner who remains on the watchlist despite having not played above Low-A. Having turned 24 late in the season, Pleffner will be expected to produce as an “old” player for Potomac in 2014. |

Jose Marmolejos-Diaz Born: 1/2/1993 Ht. 6’1″ Wt. 185 Bats: L Throws: L Career Stats |
“Orange” has been a watchlister for three years now after posting an unusually strong OBP in 2011 as an 18-y.o. in the DSL. He then showed some power in 2012 and maintained it for the most part in 2013, though his playing time was cut into as he split time with Diomedes Eusebio (next). Has also played some LF, which leads to the inference that he may be slow of foot. |

Diomedes Eusebio DOB: 9/8/92 Ht. 6′ Wt. 185 Bats: R Throws: R Career Stats |
After a sophomore slump in 2012, Eusebio repeated the GCL in 2013 and substantially improved his rate stats (277/.315/.383 to .330/.382/.450) while shifting across the diamond. What’s not clear is whether this was a permanent move or one necessitated by the brass wanting Drew Ward to get as much PT at 3B as possible, thus he could be moved back to 3B in the event that he and Ward are not teammates in ’14. |
