Rochester Loses AAA National Championship
| Team | Yesterday | Today | Pitching Probables |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rochester | Lost, 5-3 (10 inn.) | END OF SEASON | N/A |
Oklahoma City 5 Rochester 3 (10 inn.)
• Cebert 2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 2K
• Yean (BS, 1) ⅔ IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 1K, WP
• Beeter (L, 1-1) 3BF, 1H, 3R, 2ER, 2BB, 0K
• Pineda 3-5, 2B, RBI
• Peguero 2-4, R, HR, RBI
For seven innings, yesterday’s sarcastic prediction of a low-scoring game held true. Oklahoma City got two in the 8th to tie and three in the 10th to go up 5-2. The Rochester offense, which had bailed out the relievers time and time again in 2026, could only get back one for a 5-3 loss.
The bullpen heroes of ILCS Game 3 were the goats in the AAA Title Game. Eddie Yean couldn’t make it three straight clean outings, which were way too few over the last six weeks, and coughed up the tying runs in the 8th on a walk, a wild pitch, a single, and a double. In the 10th, Clayton Beeter put all three batters he faced on base with two walks and a three-run double. Matt Krook got the three outs that Beeter couldn’t but it was too late.
The Red Wings answered with one in the last half of the 10th. Cayden Wallace reached on an infield single to set first-and-third with nobody out. Riley Adams then rolled into a 4-6-3 DP for the final Rochester run. Leandro Pineda, who had gotten two singles and RBI double in his first four trips to the plate, was caught looking to end the game.
And that’s a wrap on the 2026 regular season. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll have to go figure out what I’ll be having for lunch 😉

How appropriate that the bullpen (led by castoffs from the Nats) blew the game.
What a bummer. But it’s still been a wildly successful season.
Looking forward to the AFL to begin!
Thanks again for yet another season of coverage, Luke!!!
Oh well ( Fleetwoid Mac – Peter Green original version ) !

AFL
2027 – a return to traditional starting pitching patterns !
the MLB network crew was all in on King and he didn’t dissapoint. hitting the ball hard all night and made a few dazzling plays in the field.
Susana throwing 102-104 and throwing strikes.
Glassey is fearless and unscored upon as a Nat prospect.
can’t wait to see how it all plays out in 2027 but the organization is an entirely different (better) place than a year ago.
also, Cebert pulled it together after a shaky start.
Luke, thank you for keeping us entertained year after year!!!
Thanks Luke for all your hard work and thanks to everyone for your observations all year long. I’m very happy with the overall improvement in the farm system, not perfect but improved. Will be interesting to see how the pitching changes with players coming back from injuries and any trades/signings. Obviously for the Red Wings, it was an enjoyable season to watch exciting competitive games. Even before the playoffs, I had planned to get season tickets for next year. If anyone is ever in Rochester, let me know.
