The Red Wings ‘pen, which was asked to do more than it should have to all season long, faltered after five scoreless innings as the Cubs finally broke the stalemate in the 11th for a 3-2 deficit. A one-out walk was all the could muster in response as the last two batters struck out for a 3-2 loss in the season finale. Andrew Alvarez struck out ten, walked one, and hit a batter… and gave up six hits, including a game-tying two-run HR over five innings. The loss went to Carlos Romero on a one-out single in his second inning of work. Jake Alu, Andrew Pinckney, and Joey Meneses each reached base three times, combining to go 5-for-11 with four walks, four whiffs, and both Rochester RBIs. The rest of the lineup went 2-for-27 with two walks and 12 strikeouts.
Thanks for another season of great coverage and reporting. You’re my “go-to” morning reading!
Amen! Thanks for your faithfulness to this, Luke.
Great job , Luke
I’m laying here with my Boston about to go to urgent care with this lingering autumn allergies / etc etc
Plenty of pink slips to be handed out as the locker rooms have emptied out in AAA and lower affiliates
Is there a post season WPB complex camp for some of the prospect kids ?
Lots of “older” guys on the Rochester roster. It’s the time of year where you wonder how many will be suiting up again for the Nats, or even anywhere in the minors.
Thanks for everything this year Luke!
I check this site every day to learn the progress of the young Nats of the future. I appreciate all your work.
Thanks Luke. My go to read every lunchtime in the UK….
Luke is the one guy I never want promoted to the show. The best organizational guy we could ask for!
Thanks for all your efforts!
Will also chime in to add a big thanks to you, Luke, for a 15th (!!) season of coverage done and dusted!
Looking forward to the AFL 😉
Thank You Luke!! Your site will be missed until the return of MILB. Grateful for your posts!….. My morning coffee/tea will now be accompanied with Montreal Canadiens blogs.
Habs should be much more potent thus year , Don especially the Russian. SS.
Human League (“Don’t you want me baby” song), you mean the Finn forward Patrik Laine? Have a good one!
Thanks Luke for everything. And all you posters as well – really enjoy reading your comments.
The only thing missing is for the org. To allow the farm director to give periodic updates and comments throughout the year on our prospects. Would definitely give us more to chew on but alas I have greater hopes of my wife letting go of grudges
Really appreciate the daily updates. This is the only way to see the background of players as they come to Rochester and what to expect.
Moving to the AFL, it looks like an overeager intern clicked publish on the AFL rosters video yesterday: https://www.mlb.com/video/2024-arizona-fall-league-rosters-announced?t=mlb-pipeline . The video is no longer up, but it’s been cached with the description “Jac Caglianone, Ethan Salas, Xavier Isaac and Colson Montgomery are among the prospects who will play in the Arizona Fall League in 2024.”
So it sounds like the rosters have been decided, and the official announcement should come imminently.
