Good to see Cavalli back in the frame. “Dead arm”, which is what they were using to describe Cavalli’s set back, sounded a lot like “we don’t actually know what the issue is”, which is highly worrisome when rehabbing a significant operation. So that’s a small relief.
Speaking of rehabs, what’s happened to Yohandy Morales? He broke his finger over two months ago. Finger injuries don’t usually take 2+ months of recovery. Was there a separate set back? Or is this just a really bad finger injury?
I wonder when we’ll see the first of the draftees report to a team. It’ll be especially interesting without the FCL as a soft landing spot. They’re going to be thrown in the deep end of full season A ball.
I am with Will on Morales?
Glasser will turn 25 in December. Hope they move him to AA soon.
Don Delino needs as many left handed bats for the playoff push .
With Gray on the shelf and Williams too.
Guess Williams returns and Rizzo rents a veteran arm for 2025 or Nats go pure youth movement ?
How will Q hit in “ the Canyon “?
Right , Keith Law ?
Adios , Aldo ?
Davis in the top five pitching surprises this summer for Sure
Davis the dude !
Make or break time for Mota !
Silly question :
Shin splints is an ailment for hoops players or track and field
Usually ??
It’s an overuse injury Obviously runners, ballers, and dancers are the most common customers, but you can get from walking a lot and/or wearing unsupportive shoes.
I was close : Alston was second in the Sens bullpen conga line
What would really be surprising next spring with Gray on the shelf is Thaddeus Ward actually getting the starters habit which carries him to the show again .
We’ve heard some talk about the Nats possibly acquiring A. J. Puk from Miami. Deyvison De los Santos is an intriguing player acquired by Miami in that deal, with the Diamondbacks getting Puk. Look at his numbers, with 14 homers and 47 RBI in just 210 plate appearances in AAA. You could triple those numbers for a full season. He plays first base as well as third. Just turned 21. He has batting eye issues but he’s a slugger, and not anywhere near Elijah Green territory. He might’ve been a more interesting trade possibility than Puk for Nats. The CF who Dbacks also gave up looks pretty good too. Anyway, a deal for Puk was too rich for Rizzo.

I don’t understand why the Nats were interesting in Puk? A 29 year old, injury plagued reliever isn’t exactly the kind of piece to vault the Nats into contenders.
With that said, it also illustrates how extra years of control can enhance trade value. Puk’s trade value was roughly comparable to what Harvey provided (two good but non-elite prospects), the key difference being that Puk is under control for 2.5 years vs. Harvey’s 1.5, while Harvey has been a superior reliever to Puk for several seasons now.
I hope Finnegan, Floro and Law (and Winker) can provide a boost to our upper-level depth soon.
I saw that too EdDC
Luke are you channeling Tom Clancy writing some of the game summary’s with certain verbiage ??
Digging Davis @ FRED
I bet this is Gavin getting the ball in first two innings in Harrisburg then the bullpen conga line .
Maybe we could use the Dipoto ransom in Seattle for Randy A to compare to what Rizzo might ask on Thomas ??
Good day everyone .
Safe to say by this time next year
The farm will resemble more a blend of Arizona / Baltimore affiliate chemistry make ups ?
Getting back to Chase Solesky , I see he has logged over one hundred IP as a starter the last three summers .
He’s now slightly under 40 IP with Sens .
Interesting , Tulane Green Wave .
Will, he broke his thumb. That takes longer.
He broke it by stupidly sliding head first in to home.
But even thumb injuries tend to be 6 week-ish recovery time. Harper broke his thumb a couple years ago and missed 2 months. But we’re at the point that Morales should have been back by now, or in the absence of any key setbacks should be physically ramping up activities. I thought there might have been an obscure tweet out there reporting on him being back in camp in Florida or taking batting practice in Harrisburg.
