Brady House Born: 6/4/03 Ht. 6’4″ Wt. 215 Bats: L Throws: R Career Stats |
The quietest three-level season in recent memory got House off the M*A*S*H unit and back to a position column for his third watchlist appearance. Back injuries are known to sap power, but the 20-y.o. slugged .497 with 12HR in carefully managed 88G. Scouts say he’s still chasing too much off the plate and not drawing enough walks. 2024 would seem to be about improving that as well as showing some durability.
Trey Lipscomb Born: 6/14/00 Ht. 6’1″ Wt. 200 Bats: R Throws: R Career Stats |
Lipscomb spent just 49 games at High-A with a mediocre line of .251/.311/.387 before getting the bump to where he finished the season, posting a .748 OPS with 10HR over 80 games. Defensively, he can play all four IF positions, but has played 3B the most due to his above-average arm. Offensively, he needs to take more walks while chasing fewer pitches out of the zone.
Yohandy Morales Born: 10/09/01 Ht. 6’4″ Wt. 225 Bats: R Throws: R Career Stats |
Defense is perhaps the weakest part of his game, which may serve the Nationals well if “Yoyo” and “B-House” arrive in DC at the same, as scouts are already hinting at a move across the diamond. Offensively, Washington’s 2nd Rd. pick hit for power (.494) but not HRs (0) while still hitting for average (.349) across four levels in 42 games. Like House, he should be back in AA to start ’24.
Jorgelys Mota Born: 06/05/05 Ht. 6’3″ Wt. 170 Bats: R Throws: R Career Stats |
Mota only played in 23 games for the ’22 D-Nats, which prevented him from becoming a DSL Bat for the ’23 watchlist but not for joining the F-Nats last summer. He only played in five more games, but improved from a .742 OPS to .857 – the best for the AATL players. The Nats included him in the series of players sent to Low-A in late August, which is where he’ll likely begin ’24. |
