Rain stopped the game between the Red Wings and the (ugh) Woo Sox in the bottom of the 2nd. They’ll shoot to complete this one today and then play a seven-inning game afterwards.

J.T. Arruda was the beer man on Saturday night—though he did walk twice and stole his 25th base—as Harrisburg railroaded Altoona for a season-high 17 hits in a 13-3 beatdown. Alemao Hernandez turned in his second quality start, letting all three Curve runs on six hits (one HR) over six innings. He walked none and struck out two. Jackson Cluff, Frankie Tostado, Brady House, and Jacob Young each had three hits, with Cluff and Tostado driving in three apiece, and House connecting for three doubles.

The Blue Rocks prevailed 5-1 to win back-to-back games for the first time in nearly a month (June 29-30). Kyle Luckham turned in a career-high seven innings pitched, allowing just one run on a HR and two hits total while striking out four. Todd Peterson blanked Brooklyn for the last two frames to earn his third save. Wilmington broke the game open in the 9th with a three-run rally, capped off by the second single by Branden Boisserie and a two-run HR by Jordy Barley. Daylen Lile got the party started with a HR to lead off the game, his first big fly at High-A.

Fredericksburg scored seven times in the 8th for a 12-2 sportswriter’s win, ending a four-game losing streak. Thunderstorms were in the forecast (*ahem*) for most of Northern and Central Virginia, but they passed by harmlessly. Luke Young made first pitch at 6:05 p.m. and gave up both Pelicans runs on a two-run HR in the 4th. He made it through the requisite five, allowing six hits total, walking two, and striking out four in his second win of ’23. The FredNats sent 11 men to the plate in the 8th, with Armando Cruz drawing his second walk and capping off the inning with a three-run double, his second hit of the night. Max Romero and Sammy Infante also had two hits while John McHenry reached base five times on four walks and an RBI single while stealing two bases.

In the regularly scheduled game, the F-Nats were edged by the F-Marlins, 3-2. Camilo Sanchez gave up all three runs on three hits (one HR) and four walks over four innings for his first loss in five starts. Newcomers Gavin Dugas (single, double) and Elijah Nuñez (single, walk, stolen base) led the FCL Nationals’ five-hit barrage.

Making up the July 8 postponement, the FCL Nationals hooked the FCL Marlins in Game for 12-3 win to split the twinbill. Genderson Zapata let in all three F-Marlin runs on thee hits and no walks over five innings to win his third game. 23-y.o. Phillip Glasser walked, singled twice, homered, and stole a base in his pro debut while 18-y.o. Jorgelys Mota was a HR shy of the cycle and drove in two to lead the F-Nats 12-hit parade. Roster moves: OFs Andrew Pinckney (4th Rd.), Elijah Nuñez (14th), Brandon Pimentel (NDFA) and IFs Yohandy Morales (3rd), Marcus Brown (5th), Gavin Dugas (6th), and Phillip Glasser (10th) assigned from Washington.

DSL Nationals – OFF DAY
The entire DSL was off yesterday in preparation for the DSL All-Star Game today. We’re going to go out on a limb and say there may not be D-Nat on the N.L. roster.
