Editor’s note: The matchups above are based on last Wednesday’s starters if the information was not available in Sunday’s press notes.
Rochester Red Wings, 17-26, 10th place I.L. East, 13½ GB
Rochester remains on the road, moving roughly 4½ hours down I-90 to Toledo for six against the I.L. West’s 5th place team, including a matinee on Wednesday. A 2-4 week dropped them a game further behind 9th place Syracuse. C Francisco Arcia released; C Drew Millas promoted from Harrisburg; LHP Matt Cronin placed on the 7-Day I.L.
Harrisburg Senators, 19-19, T3rd place E.L. Southwest, 1GB
The Senators broke even after starting the series last week with two losses by a combined score of 22-10. This week, it’s a trip to Reading for six against the Phillies affiliate, starting with a late-morning tilt today. C Onix Vega reassigned from Wilmington.
Wilmington Blue Rocks, 20-18, 2nd place Sally Lg. North, 2½ GB
Wilmington picked up a game in the standings despite a 3-3 split against Jersey Shore. First-place Hudson Valley comes to town this week, which gives the Blue Rocks a chance to whittle that lead down if they can take four, or assume the top spot if they can win five. RHP Cole Henry MiLB rehab transferred from Fredericksburg; RHP Jackson Tetreault assigned from Rochester for MiLB Rehab; RHP Tyler Yankosky activated from the 7-Day I.L.
Fredericksburg Nationals, 13-24, 6th place C.L. North, 8½ GB
Last week, the FredNats took two of six from the C.L. South-leading Fireflies. Believe it or not, this week’s series against the Salem Red Sox is the first this half, with three more series in the second half. RHP Miguel Gomez reassigned from Wilmington; RHP Christian Ciuffetelli placed on the 7-Day I.L.
looking at bats… setting at 60 AB gets us Blake Rutherford, 26-years old, yankees 1st round pick playing corner outfielder. His career minor league OPS is 734.
With Arcia’s release, I was expecting Millas would go to Rochester, but haven’t seen the transaction.

That Troop to Arruda pick off move must have been snazzy jazzy
I can understand Luke why you put the Wilmington text in black . That’s an amazing feat considering the up and down play from all affiliates despite the early post in the season race / marathon .yes no promotions for Millas Bennett Saenz .
I’m not sure why they’re being so cautious with Bennett. Bennett was meant to be a pretty advanced pitching prospect when he was drafted. Plus, a few other less-regarded and less-advanced arms drafted that same year by the Nats have already made it to Wilmington.
Think his promotion has to be imminent at this point.
The Saenz promotion probably hinges on how long brass can put up with Alameo in Sens rotation .
Sens play at 11 today so we won’t have to wait long to see if Millas was promoted.
Actually the description of Frankie T in a headband made me think of soccer legend
Renaldo
Too bad Frizzel hasn’t set A plus on fire with his lumber .
If Wood would eventually get promoted any guy could bat in front of an El Fuego Frizzel
Rutherford is found money and the Nats should consider having him learn first base. And they should send him to AAA.
and there’s the promotion, Millas to AAA, Vega to AA
Very good, and about time for both.
Now that Millas has made some fans happy with his singing off to Rochester
Will we ever see a promotion at a game of a classic Chevy Vega give away ? Lol
In Sens / Nats colors ?
Looking ahead to the next possible promotion but maybe further down the line
James Wood
How would the roster be supplemented? Will goes small ball with McKenzie ?
I’m perhaps the first here to call for a promotion, but even I wouldn’t promote Wood yet. Give him a few more months.
However, I would be quicker to promote Jacob Young to make space for Daylen Lile in Wilmington.
Let’s see if the Nats draft a college talent especially in the outfield who deserves placement at high A
Nice to see a timely promotion that also happened to resolve other playing time issues at the same time!
Vega has stumbled the past few weeks but the promotion is still well deserved. And as I’ve said many times now, Millas has been exceptional.
Tetreault started for Wilmington, not Saenz.
Play Steven Williams in the lineup
Now and then .
