Great to see a strong outing from MacKenzie Gore. There are a few key pieces who’ll have to click for the Nats to turn things around, and he’s one of them.
Good for Alex Troop getting a AAA look. He’s going to be an interesting Rule 5 40-man decision.
Denard Span ended up with the Rats and that pipeline keeps gushing …
Rays lol
Typo
Dog on my lap ( perfect excuse !)
I was looking at the box score yesterday and Rochester had 20 (!!!) pitchers on its roster. And Alex Troop makes 21. Good for him that he gets a glance at AAA with 7 games to go.
The Nats f.o. sure loves Adrian Sanchez; he seems destined for management.
He’s a Rizzo chum!
I love Adrian Sanchez and all he has done in his Nats career. I would challenge the Natosphere to come up with even one instance where he didn’t show up and play with the upmost effort and professionalism. While he may be considered AAAA material when he made it to the show he provided value in his versatility and standout defense. You can’t evaluate your prospects if the team they are playing on is in disarray or playing sloppy baseball.
I hope the fact that he never left the organization will result in his loyalty being rewarded.
100% Agree.
If Zimmy is “Mr. National” for his 17 seasons on the Nats, Adrian is “Mr. Nacional” for his 16 seasons.
Mark : how many pitchers were on the development list or the disabled list ?
Oh the horrors! Zach Brzykcy in his AAA debut allowed 2 hits to raise his ERA there to ……… 0.00.
Whose rise is more impressive, Jake Alu, a 24th round pick in 2019, or Zach Brzykcy an undrafted free agent signed in 2020?
there’s no wrong answer to that question
But there were only five rounds in the 2020 draft . . .
That said, Brzykcy currently is way ahead of the reliever who the Nats did draft that year, Holden Powell.
To refresh everyone’s memory, there was only a 5 round draft that year. All signings after that were limited to a $25,000 bonus so there would be no bidding.
Zach Brzykcy had offers from 23 clubs to choose from. He said he picked the Nats because he thought they would do the best job of developing him. Turns out he was right!
