Logan Verrett tossed seven scoreless innings, with three hits, no walks, and four K’s. Patrick Murphy got the next five outs (three by way of the K) before giving way to Matt Cronin, who struck out the IronPigs southpaw first baseman to end the 9th. Adrián Sanchez broke up the Star Trek convention with a one-out single in the top of the 10th while Josh Palacios sent in Sanchez with his third hit and Rochester’s fifth double. Cronin finished up with three flyouts in the 10th to earn the win, his second at AAA.
Roster moves: RHP Joan Adon optioned from Washington; RHP Hunter Harvey MLB Rehab ended, recalled to Washington.
Harrisburg 6 Erie 5
• Reyes 5IP, 5H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 4K, 2HR, HBP

• Nogowski 1-3, R, 2BB, HR(GS), 4RBI
• Connell 1-2, R, 2B(15), 2BB, SF, RBI
• Hubbard 1-3, BB
Harrisburg rallied from 5-0 to walk off in the series, 6-5, and win back-to-back games for the first time in two weeks. Luis Reyes dug a 4-0 hole on a pair of two-run HRs in the 1st but made it through five innings, giving up five hits, two walks, and striking out four. The “W” went to Andrew Lee, who tossed a 1-2-3 ninth. John Nogowski smacked a grand slam in the 7th to pull the Sens within one while a Justin Connell sac fly tied the game and Wilson Garcia flyball fell between two Erie OFs trying to catch it on the run and make a play at the plate, but instead, it went for a game-winning single.
Winston-Salem 9 Wilmington 3
• Cuevas (L, 3-9) 4IP, 5H, 7R, 5ER, 3BB, 4K, WP
• Guasch 1⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 2K, 2-0 IR-S
• Antuna 2-3, R, BB
• Baker 2-5, RBI
The Blue Rocks also fell into a deep hole early but were unable to dig out, losing 9-3 to split the series with the Dash. Michael Cuevas saw his streak of three straight starts of six or more innings stopped as he was smoked out by Winston-Salem after four innings pitched. He gave up seven runs on five hits and three walks while fanning four. Wilmington was unable to take advantage of six walks issued as they went 1-for-12 with RISP and left on nine base runners. Yasel Antuna and Darren Baker both singled twice to account for four of the five hits. The fifth hit was Israel Pineda’s 15th double.
Fredericksburg 7 Lynchburg 2

Fredericksburg closed out the series with a 7-2 win to take the series, 5-1 from Lynchburg. Dustin Saenz pitched into the 7th for the first time in his career while winning his fourth game of the season. He let in one run on two hits and two walks while setting down four on strikes. Jacob Young homered and scored three runs while registering his sixth three-hit game of the season. Jeremy De La Rosa also went deep while driving in two and going 2-for-5.
FCL Nationals 16-7, 2½ GA, FCL East
The F-Nats are riding an eight-game winning streak to open up a 2½ game lead over the F-Marlins in the FCL East. This week, it’s one more against the F-Astros Orange, two against the F-Astros Blue, then a pair against the F-Cards.
DSL Nationals 12-12, 5GB, DSL South
The D-Nats dropped to .500 with a 2-3 week last week and are now five games off the pace in the DSL South. This week, it’s seven over six days, including two against the D-Mariners today and tomorrow, and a rainout-makeup doubleheader vs. the D-Twins on Wednesday.
You need great pitching to win a game with a 1 for 14 RISP slash line and Rochester had it. Good to see Matt Cronin getting his sea legs in AAA.
Ho hum, Jeremy De La Rosa was great again.
T.J. White keeps piling up impressive numbers. Meanwhile, Brady House has been out a month now, this after missing 2 weeks in May.

Here’s the BATS. Jake (Alu) is raking – moving all the way to #4 on the list. TJ White hanging in there at #9 (turning 19 this month).
Alu is 25, plays 3B, and was the Nats 24th round pick in 2019 out of Boston College.
Jeremy De La Rosa now firmly established at #1. He’s stolen 26 of 31 bases as well. But how is he as a defensive CF?

from what I’ve seen De La Rosa looks pretty smooth in CF
In HBG, the sac fly to tie the game in the 9th was a close play at home. The Erie players and coaches were irate at the safe call. The manager came out to argue and the 3B umpire literally had to hold back Erie players from leaving the dugout area.
I just looked at that, reminded me of the college WS the way the players were out of the dugout jumping up and down.
it was close.
I was watching live at the time and it was the right call. Excellent slide.
Yes, the non-promotion of de la Rosa remains perplexing. And yes, it’s important know whether he can stick in CF, as he has yet to fully flash power enough for RF, although he could still be growing into it, with a big leap in SLG this season. The two cautionary things I see with him are that he is still striking out 25% of the time, and he’s been extraordinarily “lucky,” with a BABIP still over .400.
Overall, though, his turnaround has been amazing, from slashing .209/.279/.316 in 2021 to .315/.394/.505 in 2022.
looks to me like you answered your own question
Jacob Young on a nice short streak
Wilmington needs some offensive reenforcements.
Quietly Alu slashing through the summer .
And bat boy gets the attention
Totally agree, Jeff, on Wilmington. It’s way past time to move the conga line. Still have all those players in Florida who need to head North.
