Reid Schaller picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief while Zach Brzykcy worked around two walks in the 9th to close it out. 24 year old Seth Shuman is turning in to a real prospect with another excellent start.

He is older than Josiah Gray 🙂
But if can establish himself in Harrisburg by the end of the year, I’ll be happy with that.
Wilmington ERA’s seem to be low, wonder if that is something about the ballpark or about the league.

The average age for pitchers debut in the majors is 25.3. That puts Gray way ahead and Shuman on track.
I remember watching a pitcher for the Marlins debut at 37 about 15 years ago.

Progress for Denaburg: 4 innings and no walks. 6 hits were not good, but the trend of his starts is upward.

With Denaburg, I keep reminding myself that for all intents and purposes, he hasn’t pitched competitively since he was a senior in high school, four years ago. It’s going to take him a while to rediscover the mental edge as well as the physical.
