Rochester emptied its ‘pen again as five pitchers limited Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to three hits in a 2-1 win – the third straight for the Red Wings. Jefry Rodriguez reverted to the mean, as he did not make it out of the 3rd. He allowed the lone RailRiders run on two hits, three walks, and two hit batsmen over two and 2/3rds innings. Ben Braymer stranded two while closing out the 3rd and added two goose eggs to pick up the win. Francisco Perez (2IP), Jordan Weems (1IP), and Carl Edwards Jr. combined for four scoreless to nail it down. Tres Barrera scored both Rochester runs, with Andrew Stevenson hitting a 3rd-inning sac fly and Luis García driving in the go-ahead run in the 5th.

The Senators were no-hit in the opener by two BaySox pitchers for a 4-0 loss. Evan Lee matched his last outing with five innings of one-run ball on two hits. He walked two and struck out a season-high of eight. Taylor Gushue and Jackson Cluff were the only two batters to reach base for Harrisburg, each drawing a walk.

In the second game, the Senators continued to flail until the top of the 6th when K.J. Harrison drove in Jake Alu to tie the game at 1-1. The BaySox got that run right back on a homer to lead off the bottom half of the inning, which hung the “L” on Brian González. Steven Fuentes went the first four innings, allowing a run on three hits and two Victor Robles (nos. 3 and 4 in 25IP this season). He walked one and struck out none. He let in a run on two hits, two walks, and struck out two. Tyler Yankosky blew his third save in a row, allowing a run on three hits over the final two innings of regulation. Conversely, Zach Brzykcy won for the third straight appearance, letting in the free runner in the 8th on a leadoff double and issuing a two-out walk before retiring the side in order in the 9th. Israel Pineda drove in three of the first four Blue Rocks runs on an RBI single and a two-run HR while Cole Daily drove in the gamewinner with his second single to lead the Wilmington offense

Seth Shuman notched his second quality start with six scoreless innings, allowing four hits, no walks, and striking out five. The loss went to Malvin Peña, who gave up both Bowling Green runs on four hits over an inning and 2/3rds. The win went to Riggs Threadgill, who retired all four batters he faced and stranded the tying run in the 6th. Peña and Jeremy De La Rosa both homered and drove in two while Andry Arias tripled in one as Fredericksburg squeezed six runs out of six hits and two walks.
Luke : can we tongue and cheek say : Riggs Threadgill someone we can bank on in the bullpen .
Arrrr arrr arrr?
Baby Shark special asst duties Perhaps helping out on the Complex in WPB?
Helping Watson out ?
No hitters less than 8-9 innings not as impressive as a CG no no with a called third strike to wrap it up .
Just saying
Nice efforts by guys in rotation in Anaheim
Time to put the Baby Shark music into the dustbin of history along with your collection of Elvis , The Delphonics , the Zombies the Lovin Spoonful

Any other one hit wonders ?
Any chance Rizzo can find a pitching prospect with the last name Rossington to go with Collins ? Lol
Does anyone know what Brady House’s secret injury is?
T.J. White is also hurt; hasn’t played in 5 days.
Isreal Pineda was the man yesterday, red hot!
Seth Shuman has quietly lowered his ERA to 3.66.
What a difference switching the calendar to the next month can be.
In April, Pineda came out realllllly slow, batting .204/.279/.315 (15 games). But since May 1st, he’s hit .423/.423/.654 (6 games). What’s really interesting is how oddly consistent he’s been in this period.
Thru the first 15 games, he amassed 11 hits, of which 3 were doubles and 1 HR. In his last 6, he amassed….. 11 hits, 3 2B and 1 HR.
Watson listed Pineda as a guy he was hoping took off
Sssssh Shuman
Like the Miles Davis standard Ssssssshhh
Neither was lifted from their last game, which leads me to believe that it’s an off-the-field thing. White was lifted for a pinch-hitter in his penultimate game, but the MiLB.tv archive suspiciously goes dark just before the double that White fielded. However, he played all nine innings of the 5/4 game. Occam’s razor suggests he may have strained something, causing him to miss six games, came back on the 4th and then something else happened.
House was put on the I.L. last week after playing all nine innings on the 1st. The press release was pretty curt about “no further information being available.” He appears to be eligible to next play on the 11th.
It’s also worth repeating that both House and White are both 18 years old. ESPN has learned that young men that age often make poor decisions, so there are lots of possibilities here. Or it could be as relatively benign as one or the other or both testing positive for COVID-19. You can be fully vaccinated (and double boosted) and still be infected (and afflicted) by SARS-CoV-2.
Thanks, Luke, for the intel.
Here’s some leaders in the Org. Nice to see de la Rosa taking steps forward and Connell developing power. Irvin and Henry are building up innings slowly.

Anyone want to guess as to whom of Ferrer and Cronin will allow an earned run first?
Follow up question, which player will get a promotion first?
Think the odds favor Cronin, but Ferrer wasted a season of development last year, after inexplicably staying for a second excellent year in the FCL. Also, the big jump isn’t from low A to high A, but high A to AA, so there could be a quick bump for Ferrer. Both are deserving, though.
I wonder how much longer the Nats will keep Edwards in Rochester?
Also the Tommy Milone award goes to Tyler Yankoski who has faced 56 batters and not walked anyone.
