Rochester took a 1-0 lead early and got six shutout innings from journeyman Jefry Rodriguez. Alas, Worcester jumped on Carson Teel for three runs in the 7th and weathered two walks to hold on for a 3-1 win. Rodriguez cruised through six on 79 pitches, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five for the quality starts. The blown-save-loss went to Carson Teel, as he gave up a solo HR to tie it, then walked the next two batters. Diego Moreno threw a wild pitch and then gave up a two-out, two-out single. Rafael Bautista bunted his way on to lead off the 4th, went to third on two passed balls, and scored on Daniel Palka’s RBI single – the third and final hit of the night for the Red Wings. Rochester also drew four walks and left on six.
DSL Tigers vs. DSL Nationals – PPD
It would appear that they’ll make this up next Saturday, which is the season finale.
Speaking of journeymen, Rafael Batista is in his 10th season with the Nats with over 2,300 AB’S in the minors.
He did have a couple cups of coffee with the big club in 2017 & 2018, appearing in 26 games total.
