Rochester led 2-0 after one but the offense went AWOL and the bullpen faltered again for a 10-2 loss to extend the Red Wings’ winless streak to five games. Luis Reyes made his fifth AAA start but wore his third “L” with three runs allowed on five hits and five walks while striking out three. Two relievers and a position player combined to give up seven runs over four innings. Jake Noll singled twice to extend his hit streak to nine games while Mike Ford drove in both runs with the first of two singles in the 1st.

The SeaWolves struck for five in the 2nd to build a 6-0 lead and held off the Senators’ late charge for a 6-5 win that pushed Harrisburg’s slide to four games. Joan Adon struck out seven over three innings, but also gave up all six Erie runs, seven hits, one homer, and two walks for his first AA loss. Alex Troop put up four goose eggs and Reid Schaller one to give the offense a chance. With the help of an error and a HBP, the Sens got two in the 5th. They added two more in the 8th on two bases-loaded walks, and got the last run in the 9th on an Aldrem Corredor lead double and a Gage Canning RBI single with one out. Canning would make it second with two out, only to watch Gilbert Lara become the 12th strikeout for Harrisburg.

Three Wilmington pitchers combined to shut out Brooklyn, 6-0 on one hit. Evan Lee matched his season-best with six scoreless innings, allowing the one hit and one walk. He struck out seven while winning his second game in 18GS. Todd Peterson followed with two more zeroes and Zach Brzkcy flirted with losing the shutout, issuing a walk and a wild pitch, but got the last two outs with the runner on second going no further. Ricardo Méndez singled once, doubled twice, and drove in two as did Drew Mendoza while Drew Millas matched Méndez’s 3-for-5 mark to lead the Blue Rocks’ 14-hit parade.

Apparently, 22 days wasn’t enough to cure what’s been ailing Jackson Rutledge as the Nats’ 2019 top pick was blistered for six runs on four hits and a walk over an inning and a 1/3rd in a 13-1 defenestration of the F-Nats by the S-Sox. Rutledge struck out one (1) while losing his second game in his tenth appearance of the season. As the score suggests, the Fredericksburg relievers who followed Rutledge were also knocked around. Jaden Fein and José Sánchez hit back-to-back doubles in the 5th to break up Salem’s shutout bid.

The F-Nats scored in six of seven innings but were walked off for a 7-6 loss that completed the doubleheader sweep. Rodney Theophile made his 19th start but was lifted after four innings, having given up three runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out three. The blown-save-loss went to Cole Quintanilla, who retired just one of six batters faced and allowed two hits and three walks (one intentional) in the 7th. Jeremy De La Rosa collected a career-best nine total bases with a single, two doubles, and his 5th HR while Jacob Young reached base four times with two singles and two walks.

A brief 1-0 lead vanished when the D-Twins pantsed the D-Nats ‘pen for three in the 5th and two in the 7th as they held off a late charge for a 5-3 win. Starter Genderson Zapata, 17, tossed three scoreless with one hit, one HBP, and one whiff. The loss went to 21-y.o. Juan Abreu with the “help” of two errors with one out in the frame. The D-Nats managed just five hits and five walks and were 1-for-9 with RISP. They committed four errors total.
