Jefry Rodriguez dug a 4-0 hole, but six shutout innings from the ‘pen and a six-run 6th got the Red Wings out for a 7-4 win. Rodriguez gave up all four Mets runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six. Joan Baez blanked Syracuse for three innings to earn his second win while Dakota Bacus worked around two baserunners in the 9th for his first save. Gerardo Parra’s bases-loaded triple highlighted the Big Inning as Rochester pounded out 12 hits total, with Adrián Sanchez the sole batter not to reach base. Roster moves: RHPs Sterling Sharp, Alberto Baldonado, OF Cody Wilson reassigned from Harrisburg.

Bowie bookended crooked innings in the 1st and 6th innings before the rains came and hung a fourth shutout loss on Harrisburg, 4-0. Tim Cate let in all four BaySox runs on three hits and four walks over five and a 1/3rd innings to take the loss. Nick Wells wild-pitched in one of two inherited runners but struck out both batter he faced. Jakson Reetz doubled, Rhett Wiseman singled, Osvaldo Duarte and Drew Mendoza both drew walks to account for the Senators offense. Roster moves: OF Carlos Tocci reassigned from Rochester.

The Blue Rocks scored in each of the first five innings to build an eight-run lead and cruise to a 12-7 win over the ‘Hoppers. Zach Brzykcy got the spot start and did little disabuse his bullpen usage as he blanked Greensboro in the first before getting lit up for two runs in each of the 2nd and 3rd innings. He finished with four runs allowed on five hits (three HR) and two walks while fanning four. Christian “Chevy” Vann was credited with the win but was just as ineffective with two runs let in over two innings. Malvin Pena let in one over three to earn the save. Jake Alu, Armond Upshaw, and Israel Pineda combined for seven hits, including four homers and two doubles as Wilmington stoned Greensboro pitchers for 22 hits total.

Fredericksburg knocked out three in the first extra-inning and held on for their third win, 7-5 over Down East. Rodney Theophile pitched into the 5th inning for the first time in four starts, charged with two unearned runs on three hits and three walks while setting down four on strikes. Leif Strong turned in his second straight clean outing and earned the win while Tanner Driskill let in the free runner on a leadoff single to start the 10th but retired the next three – two by way of the K – to earn the save.
