Rogelio Armenteros no-hit Syracuse for five innings last night – just not in a row. In the 3rd, the Mets went to town on the 26-y.o. Cuban for all four runs on five extra-base hits (one HR, one triple, three doubles) as they handed Armenteros his second loss and the 15th for the Red Wings by a score of 5-2. Rochester left runners on in four of the first six innings before pushing across single runs in the 7th and 8th innings. Gerardo Parra was a thorn in the side of Syracuse. But enough about his walkup music. He also walked twice and singled twice to lead the Red Wings’ seven-hit, three-walk offense. Roster moves: IF Luis García recalled to Washington.

Drew Mendoza blasted a pair of three-run HRs, highlighting the Sens’ four-run first and their five-run 5th in a 10-6 win over the BaySox. Luis Reyes got the Jack Morris win with all six Bowie runs allowed on five hits (two homers) and three walks over five and 2/3rds innings. He fanned five. Bryan Dobzanski got the last out in the 6th while Andrew Lee (2IP) and Frankie Bartow shut down the BaySox the rest of the way. Humberto Arteaga also went deep and drove in two while Aldrem “All He Does Is Hit” Corredor singled twice and walked once to lead the Harrisburg attack. Roster moves: RHP Andrew Lee activated from the 7-Day I.L.

Greensboro posted a picket fence in the early innings then whitewashed Wilmington, 3-0. Cole Henry allowed all three ‘Hopper runs on three hits (one HR) and five walks over five innings while striking out five in his second loss of the season. Alex Troop and Reid Schaller combined for three scoreless while putting on five baserunners to keep things close. The Blue Rocks offense mustered just four hits, none in six chances with RISP as they left on eight baserunners. Jacob Rhinesmith, Gilbert Lara, and Omar Meregildo combined to go 3-for-9 with three walks. The rest of the lineup went 1-for-21 with two walks.

You were informed thusly. The F-Nats got their first road win (second win overall) as three pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout of the Wood Ducks, 2-0. OK, fine: Jeremy De La Rosa’s first RBI wasn’t scratched, it was smashed over the RF fence for his first home run of the season. That got him off the hook for “losing” Mitchell Parker’s no-hit bid on a triple to CF in the 6th. Parker walked two and struck out ten in six innings to earn his first win as a pro. Soap opera villain Jordan Bocko walked two but struck out two in two innings to earn the hold while Amos Willingham cordero’d around a pair of two-out singles to earn the save.
