Austin Voth took a wrong turn with Albuquerque in the 3rd in Fresno’s 5-3 loss to drop back to .500. Voth gave up three runs on a HR and six hits total over five innings as he lost for the third time. He walked one and struck out seven. After two scoreless from J.J. Hoover, Jordan Mills gave up two more in the 8th to put the game out of reach. Taylor Gushue reached base four times on two singles, a HR, and a Victor Robles while Jacob Wilson singled twice. The rest of the lineup went 1-for-26 with three walks (two by Carter Kieboom) and a stolen base (Alec Keller, who was the “1” out of the 26).

The Senators had just one more hit than errors, which even FP knows is a formula for a loss – 2-1 to the Yard Goats. Both Hartford runs were unearned and were abetted by three errors on a single play that turned one out and one on at first into one out, one in, and a runner on third. A subsequent single made it 2-0 and a loser of Jackson Tetreault, who still registered a quality start of two runs on seven hits, no walks and six whiffs over six innings. It only took six weeks and six appearances, but Trevor Rosenthal notched his first clean inning of the 2019 season in the 7th against the Yard Goats’ 7-8-9 hitters. Tres Barrera singled in Ian Sagdal in the 6th to break up the shutout as he and Drew Ward were the only two Harrisburg batters to reach base twice. The Sens had five hits, three walks, and 14 batting strikeouts. Roster moves: RHP Trevor Rosenthal assigned from Washington for MLB Rehab.

Wilmington was outhit 8-5 but outscored Potomac, 2-1 to tie the series at 1-1. Grant Borne went six innings for the first time in ’19 and was charged with both Blue Rocks runs on four hits and no walks. He fanned a career-high of eight. A.J. Bogucki shut things down the rest of the way but the P-Nats couldn’t push across the equalizer, with Cole Freeman thrown out trying to score from 1st on a double to left with one out in the 6th as the last true threat to score.

The clutch hit eluded the Suns as they couldn’t get one in ten chances and left on 11 in a 3-0 shutout loss to Delmarva. Francys Peguero saw his quality start streak stopped at three but still went five or more with two or fewer earned runs for the sixth time in seven starts. He was rewarded with his second loss despite tying his season-high of eight whiffs. Jacob Rhinesmith singled once and walked twice while Omar Meregildo walked and doubled to lead Hagerstown’s four-hit, six-walk effort.
