The Bell Nolls for Thee

March 28, 2019

It’s nice to wrong when it comes to the Nats and young ballplayers. Yesterday, I lost my Dukes Bros. bet that the Nats would not add Jake Noll to the Opening Day roster.

Then again, he was the first watchlist player to be added to the 40-man roster prior to Opening Day since GM Mike Rizzo took the helm in 2009.

Perhaps less heralded, but still significant, Victor Robles made the club without a detour to AAA. That’s the first watchlist player to make the Opening Day roster since Steve Lombardozzi in 2012.

Noll’s time in DC is most likely tied to the health of Howie Kendrick, who was placed on the 10-Day IL (retroactive to March 25, i.e. until April 3) yesterday along with Michael Taylor and Koda Glover.

Next up: the release of four full-season rosters, which will be a brave new world given the logistics of team on the West Coast. Given what one commenter has reported, for that very reason, it will probably be Fresno first, though I would not be surprised if the reveals are timed to hit the “wires” (a.k.a. inboxes) on Tuesday morning. Media day for Potomac, for example, is Tuesday afternoon. I’d like to think that they’ll have the sense to not release anything on April 1.

Luke. Ike the Hemingway take on April Garden Noll knome which FP would market with his humor
Brave player development team effort in WPB getting many of the upper level infielders and outfielders into some A games and A minus with the bus ride games.
That Potomac outfield pairing should be interesting. On the Heels of Noll to Nats 24. Would brass be brace in pushing the envelope on both Pablo Cruise O’Conner and Jacob Thor Rhinesmith ??
Harrisburg ? Jones Collier banks Wiseman , Keller and Agustin .

      Banks , Wiseman , Agustin , Sagdal , Corredor , Meijia , Masters , Raquet, Brayer .
Can AA carry more than 25?

Congrats to Noll. For a guy who was never rated by anyone this is so rewarding for us minor league seamheads.
I hope there are some shots of his family during the game, emotions will be running high!

Too bad Noll didn’t get to bat today–he could hardly have done worse.

Even Martinez would have to get him a chance after such bad situational hitting yesterday.
Throw him in there and see what happens.
