Victor Robles’s (semi? multi?) annual trip to the DL came early in 2018 and it was his longest: nearly three full months (April 13-July 7) and limited him to 52 games, his shortest stint since arriving in the DSL five years ago. Given the parent club’s current makeup, it would seem unlikely that he wouldn’t make the club out of spring training unless… nope, not gonna jinx him. | |

Agustin returned to High-A after washing out in Apr-May 2017 and put together his best season since 2015, though he missed six weeks to injuries. He’s probably closer to 180 or 190 than his listed weight, which, along with a tendency to pull the ball, helps explain his improved power. Scouts, however, are curious to see if his improved OBP (.338 from .295) is an outlier or a return to the patience he showed early in his career (.413, .380 in ’14, ’15). | |

Canning parlayed a .369/.426/.648 junior season at ASU into $308.9K payday as the Nats’ 5th Rd. choice. With the wood, however, the numbers weren’t nearly as gaudy in his pro debut (.253/.319/470), as he did his part to keep infielders cool with 54K in 45G. Contact is his biggest issue right now, followed by refinement of the skills associated with his plus speed (baserunning, routes in the OF). | |

An IF in college, O’Connor rose from the GCL to NYPL and played strictly in the OF, which could help him stick around as UT. The 27th Rd. pick hit .300/.338/.457 overall and showed a tendency to work very deep counts, though he only drew 14 walks in 62 games. At 23, he’s going to need another two-level season before getting the OG tag. | |

Despite being the rare HS position player drafted by Washington, Connell remains under the radar outside the Natmosphere. He regressed considerably in his second season in the GCL (insert Jakson Reetz comp here) but was promoted to SS-A in August and was above lg. avg. in his 14 games played there as a 19-y.o. He’ll likely repeat the level in ’19 since he’ll turn 20 in March. | |

Not a college senior but turned 22 in his first pro season, which he spent with the Doubledays and posted a respectable .744 OPS (Lg. Avg. was .665). The 13th Rd. pick did not produce the HRs he did at FAU (0 vs. 14 and 19) and wasn’t as efficient in SB tries (3-for-8 vs. 19-for-21), but was still rated by BA as the fastest runner from the Nats’ 2018 draft. | |

Like Wilson (not a senior but 22), Rhinesmith was picked in the 18th Rd. out of Western Kentucky and had a similar production with Auburn (.738 OPS). A capable defender who can play all three Of positions, Wilson’s presence forced him to play all but eight games on the corners. BA rated his first season as the best of the 2018 Draft. |
