Lail (3-2, 5.18)
Harrisburg Lost, 5-3 OFF DAY N/A
Potomac Lost, 11-10 ALL-STAR BREAK N/A
Hagerstown Tied, 5-5 ALL-STAR BREAK N/A
Auburn N/A @ Batavia,
7:05 p.m.
TBD vs. TBD

Lehigh Valley 4 Syracuse 3
• Long (L, 0-1) 6IP, 9H, 4R, 3ER, 2BB, 3K, 2HR
• Martin 2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Solano 3-4
• Snyder 2-4, R, 2B, RBI

The Chiefs got three runs in the late innings, but it wasn’t enough to tie as they dropped the series finale to the Iron Pigs, 4-3. Jaron Long gave up all four Lehigh Valley runs on nine hits and two walks over six innings for the loss. Rafael Martin finished the game with two scoreless innings. Jhonatan Solano led the Syracuse 11-hit parade with three, followed by Brandon Snyder and Adrian Sanchez, who both went 2-for-4. Roster move: RHP A.J. Cole recalled to Washington.

Richmond 5 Harrisburg 3
• McGowin (L, 0-1) 5IP, 9H, 5R, 5ER, 2BB, 4K, HR, HBP
• Cordero 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 0K
• N. Soto 3-4, 2R, 2B, BB
• Norfork 1-2, 2BB

Richmond scored five times in the first three innings and held off Harrisburg for a 5-3 win. Kyle McGowin allowed all five Flying Squirrel runs on nine hits and two walks over five innings to wear the “L.” Jimmy Cordero (2IP), R.C. Orlan (1IP), and Ryan Brinley (1IP) combined for four scoreless innings to keep things close, but the Senators only scored twice in response. Neftali Soto went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Carolina 11 Potomac 10
• Reyes 4+ IP, 7H, 7R, 7ER, 6BB, 6K, 2HR
• Skulina (L, 1-1) 3IP, 4H, 4R, 4ER, 3BB, 5K, HR, 2-0 IR-S
• Robles 2-3, 2R, 2B, BB, SF, RBI
• Reistetter 2-4, 2R
• Mejia 1-3, 2R, BB, HR(GS), 4RBI

The P-Nats rallied from deficits of 5-0 and 7-5 to take a 9-7 lead but couldn’t keep up with the Mudcats in an 11-10 loss to close out the first half. Luis Reyes was strafed for seven runs on seven hits (two homers) and six walks over four-plus inning. The loss went to Tyler Skulina who coughed up four runs on four hits over three innings. Bryan Mejia hit a grand slam in the 6th that gave Potomac a brief 9-7 lead while Victor Robles went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored and drove in a run with a sac fly to lead the P-Nats attack.

Hagerstown 5 Lexington 5
• Bogucki 3⅔ IP, 5H, 5R, 3ER, BB, 2K, WP
• Howard 4⅓ IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 6K
• Noll 2-4, R, RBI
• Franco 2-4, RBI
• Perkins 1-2, 2R, 2BB

Hagerstown got one run in the 5th and two more in 7th to even this up at 5-5 before rain halted play in the 9th. As the final game of the first half, they won’t make it up, so it’ll go in the books as a tie on Father’s Day. A.J. Bogucki got the start and was ineffective over three and 2/3rds innings, letting in five runs on five hits and a walk. Hayden Howard was effective with four and a 1/3rd scoreless innings pitched with six K’s, two walks, and three hits allowed. Jake Noll and Anderson Franco both went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Suns tallied nine hits and two walks total.

Auburn – OPENING DAY
As of Monday morning, the Doubledays roster has not been officially released, nor can much be inferred from the NYPL transactions on MiLB.com. But for those itching for something, here’s a story from the Auburn Citizen.

Sorry, I meant to post this a couple of days ago. No draft picks on this, so I expect it to be different today. Gilberto Chu is skipping the GCL. Alastre was highly regarded by DiPuglia when they signed him. Armond Upshaw is one to watch as well.

I am very excited for the 26th when the GCL starts. It looks like there will be at least five 16/17 year old IFAs from last year. I am curious to see how they divide the time at SS between the big three. Jose Sanchez is supposed to be the best defender of the three. I wonder if they move Yasel Antuna to third right away. Luis Garcia could see time at SS/2b or even CF, although they have Ricardo Martinez as well. Israel Pineada is a catcher.

Geraldi Diaz is off to a great start in the DSL. He is a candidate to come over later, although the Nats do not seem to do that very often.

I am very excited to see these guys and hope there are more Robles and Sotos to come.

Thanks – I just sent off an email to the media guy to make sure I’m on the list. I had gotten stuff in the spring and around Memorial Day so I thought everything was peachy…

That is odd. Did they switch PR people? Usually, once you are on those lists, it is hard to get off.

I think they did, which is pretty common — it feels like this is the 3rd or 4th one since 2011.

TimRichards should be a quick sign after Fullerton exit in Omaha .
Do draft picks filter through Viera or go straight to auburn ?

Will be interesting to see how the Nats mix in their 2017 draft picks among the teams in the organization. With so many experienced college arms, we may see some of the class of 2017 in Hagerstown or even Potomac.

Have the Nats announced any signings of the 2017 picks yet?

Not that I have seen, but the Washington Post reported yesterday that Nick Raquet had agreed to terms.

If you go to the transactions page now, there’s a slew of 6/19/17 transactions, which seems to include the entire Auburn pitching staff…

Taking the preference for shifts at the MLB level to the extreme, Auburn has decided to play the 2017 season with no 1st baseman, shortstop or right-fielder. “Bold strategy Cotton, lets see if pays off for them”:
