The Sens rallied back in the 8th inning to tie the game at 2-a-piece. A couple of things for me:
Marrero is still struggling at Syracuse. He’s currently hitting .125. He’s been a slow starter historically. Anybody have any idea on what’s up with Bernadina? I realize family matters require privacy, but I’m starting to get a bit nervous.

I keep wondering how much of Rodriguez “control” is hitting his spots and how much of it is lack of zone awareness by the fine citizens of the Eastern League.

Atilano’s outing had me nervous. They started out building the old picket fence on him with a run in each of the first two innings, but I’m glad he stabilized enough to help the Senators win.

Off days are great for me to catch up on the minors without the distractions of following MLB Nats action. Anybody have particular matchups that they are interested in tonight? None of those really scream “must listen radio” to me, so I’ll probably just listen to the Hagerstown feed to see what they have to say about “The Chosen One”. It’s funny listening to these minor league announcers gush over Harper’s every move. You know that they are feeling that they are making history with every call.

As to potential matchups that should be good, my biased answer is to watch the Blue Jays (5-4) against Seattle (2-7). Jesse Litsch on the mound for the Jays versus Felix Hernandez.

Who are these Blue Jays of which you speak? For me there’s the Nats and their affiliates. I was trying to get a sense of which of the 4 minors matchups is best for those in the Natmosphere.

Everyone needs a team in the AL to cheer for as well. Let it be the Jays, they have amazing talent in their farm system . Then again, the liklihood of this happening is not strong. For this reason, I recommend the Sens. I’m hoping Erik Davis will prove himself tonight against Twins’ highly ranked prospect, Liam Hendriks.

Sorry but KC’s the farm system to watch … followed closely by the Tampa Bay Rays. Everyone wishes their franchise were in the Rays position. Second organizationally with 12 picks in the top 2 rounds, sandwich rounds inclusive. That’s when you burst past KC to be #1 over all for at least 2 years or more.

Valdez error on a relay after Matt Chico allows a double to the first batter in the bottom of the 10th. Then Chico throws a wild pitch to just inserted catcher Jhonotan Solano. Chiefs lose.

Any word on Derrick Norris’ injury in the suspended game today?

The only thing that I know is from the Senators radio guy on twitter:
    @hbgsensradio Terry Byrom
“Sounds as if Derek Norris slipped on first base as he was going across the bag.”
If I find anything else out, I’ll post it here first. I tweeted back at Ryan Tatusko about it. Doubt he can share or that he knows anything about souldrummer25, but maybe he will respond. I’ll also tweet everybody I know about it. Injuries are always scary stuff.

I think Ryan Tatusko may be my new favorite Nats minor leaguer. I sent a tweet asking him about Derek Norris. He responded instantly and in a crazy cool fashion. If you don’t subscribe to Tatusko’s twitter feed you’ve got to do that.

I think Ben Goessling plans on using him for a Q&A on minor league ball throughout the year. Hopefully, he gets promoted to Syracuse to join Tom Milone … who I suspect could end up in DC before too long.

So what he say is Norris ok?

Late at night I forgot to put up what he said. Basically, he said that he didn’t think it was serious, but he wasn’t totally certain. He said he hopes it’s not because he likes throwing to Derek Norris.

Souldrummer is all in for Derek Norris.
Souldrummer likes other people who like Derek Norris.
          Ryan Tatusko likes Derek Norris.

Some good news for Nats farm fans: Cole Kimball named IL league pitcher of the week.

My guess for the SYR callup? RH bats first: Bixler or Bynum. But both require a 40-man slot. The next two best who are on the 40-man are Marerro and Brown but neither play second, third or short and Brown is left-handed.
