Trea Turner Update
The rain on Friday merely postponed Turner’s next three hits in Saturday’s doubleheader as the 21-y.o. went 3-for-8 with two RBI, two runs scored, and two strikeouts.
Editor’s Note
While the DSL Nationals were rained out yesterday, it should be noted that I have decided to drop day-to-day coverage of the GCL and DSL. I think I can handle the addition of Auburn to my morning writing session but I know I can’t handle all three short season teams consistently without making sacrifices to the overall coverage. I’m hoping to develop something that I can write on Sundays to summarize those two levels.
Luke. Carry on as you see fit.

Bravo, Luke!!
Who is jeffrey rosa? Another Long Island duck??
A weekly summary sounds wonderful, if you can manage it. I’ve been very happy with what you’ve been able to provide this season — much more than I’d hoped for.
Thanks, as always.
Kudos for all the work you do here, Luke. Nothing but appreciation from this corner for the things you do manage to work into your schedule.
OTOH, has anyone else here noticed that that Nats system kind of sucks right now? They went ohfer yesterday, and now ohfer again today. With Hagerstown dropping to .500 with today’s (Sunday’s) loss that means not one team has a record over .500, and the top four teams have a combined record of 84-115 (.422).
Although Joe Ross and Trea Turner* have been making the Souza trade look good, pretty much no one else is playing well across the system. OK, Reynaldo Lopez. But Giolito has been meh, Drew Ward’s batting average is down to .231, and Renda’s is down to .245. Syracuse as a team is “hitting” .226. While Harrisburg is a bit better (.242) outside of Difo no one of any consequence is hitting. They do have a 26yo Caleb Ramsey hitting .309 (with only 1 HR) and a 30yo and a 31yo (Brian Jerolomon and Mario Lisson) hitting .296 and .303. Not exactly age appropriate for AA. Potomac has been pretty awful, too.
