The PawSox jumped on Blake Treinen for two in the 1st, four in the 2nd, and seven runs total as they tripled up the Chiefs, 9-3. The 26-y.o. was charged with his first AAA loss of the year with eight hits and two walks allowed over five innings. Syracuse took advantage of six walks to score three times on seven hits, including three doubles. Eury Perez was the lone Chief to register multiple hits has he went 2-for-4 with two-base knock, while Jhonatan Solano singled, walked, and nabbed his 12th stolen base of his career.

Caleb Ramsey’s two-run, pinch-hit single highlighted a three-run 9th as Harrisburg knifed Bowie, 4-2. Paul Demny got the win with two perfect innings in relief of starter Brian Dupra, who scattered eight hits over six innings while allowing both BaySox runs. Quincy Latimore led the Senators offense with a single and a double in four at-bats, followed by Michael Taylor who walked, doubled, and stole two bases.
Roster moves: RHP Paul Demny activated from the 7-Day DL; RHP Paolo Espino placed on the 3-Day Temporary Inactive List.

The P-Nats jumped out to a 4-0 lead early but fell in the late innings, 6-5 to end a modest three-game win streak. Dakota Bacus held the lead for five innings before the Dash got to him for three in the 6th to send him packing with a no-decision. The staff ace finished with four runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks over six innings. Oscar Tejeda led the Potomac offense with a 3-for-5 night, followed by Tony Renda and Estarlin Martinez, who both went 2-for-4. Kylin Turnbull suffered the loss with two runs allowed on four hits over the final two frames.
Roster move: RHP Cody Davis reassigned from Hagerstown.
Hagerstown — OFF DAY
The Suns return to the Muni for seven games on a three-game win streak, but remain tied with Greensboro for first place in the Sally North. It’s three against division rival Kannapolis and then four against league doormat Greenville.

Raudy Read and Cody Gunter both went deep in Auburn’s four-run 4th in a 5-3 win over Jamestown. All nine Doubledays reached base, with Read also drawing a walk and single to go 2-for-4 with two runs scored and lead the attack. Reynaldo Lopez dropped his ERA to 0.75 with six shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out four in his third win. Tyler Mapes came in with the bases loaded and nobody out and let in just one in the 8th then put the lid on the Jammers in the 9th for his third save.

Randy Encarnacion’s RBI double highlighted a four-run 4th as the G-Nats cruised to a 5-1 win over the G-Mets. Anderson Martinez got the win with one run allowed on a solo HR and four hits total over five innings. He walked none and struck out two. Maximo Valerio and Cole Plouck both followed with two scoreless innings in relief. Encarnacion and Edwin Lora both went 2-for-3 with a run scored as the G-Nats registered eight hits total and drew four walks for the afternoon.

The D-Nats were shut out 1-0 by the D-Rockies with the winning run scoring on a double-play ball that only got one out. The D-Nats would get the tying run to third in the final two “ups,” only to get picked off to end the 8th and miss two chances in score in the 9th. Steven Fuentes tossed six scoreless for the second time in three starts, fanning six, walking none, and allowing just three hits but would get nothing for his efforts. The loss went to Ramses Rosario, who gave up the lone in the bottom of the 7th and let up three hits total over his two innings of work. Victor Robles and Andres Martinez both reached base twice as the D-Nats were held to seven hits and three walks.
Looks like the Nats may be needing another infielder for awhile after Zim’s hamstring injury last last night. If Zim heads to the DL, I would love to see them call up Walters and give him a couple of weeks worth of starts at 2B to see what he could do with regular reps against big league pitching.
The Nats will call up Tyler Moore if Zimmerman is out. Moore would play some first against lefties, and perhaps, some LF. He would be another right-hand hitter off the bench.
I read this morning that Walters has already been called up.
Correction–Kilgore reported that he was on a flight to Denver–which I would gather means he’ll be called up pending the results of Zim’s MRI. But it would seem the Nats expect bad news.
I hope Walters gets a start or two, while he is up. Is Moore close to being out of options?
Yep–Moore will be out of options after this season. He could well be a trading deadline trade candidate.
Not sure the market for AAAA 1B/OF with not but so much success at MLB, a hole in their swing, and little apparent use for the Big Club is that big folks. Just sayin’. I love Tyler Moore and wish him well in greener pastures, but his agent has a tough job selling his AAA results and light tower power of being worth more than a Cup of Coffee that last longer than three hours.
The Rangers were reportedly interested in Moore right after Fielder got hurt. The Nats probably should have pulled the trigger then.
Karl Kolcak any deal to move Tyler Moore for an asset is a good deal at this point. Maybe he becomes Crush Davis, but Crush Davis didn’t win a World Series for the O’s and even he appears to have turned into a pumpkin. His present .707 OPS is a far cry from last year’s 1.004.
At the game last night in Bowie Demney looked sharp and seemed to be quite aggressive on the mound also the defense looked sharp

Sir, it is you who know so well/ Nats doings in the GCL/ As for me I find it swell/when prospects leave their shell/and choose to fell/opponents like Braves who should go to hell! [Disclaimer, no soul should be cast to hell. It is the inner EVIL BATMAN of every member of the Braves community member that should be cast into the purifying HELLFIRE so that the goodness that remains can ASCEND TO HEAVEN. I probably mised it, but is Drew Ward hurt? I havent seen his name is the boxscores for a while. And speaking of hurt, what the heck is going on with Sammy Solis?
Solis had elbow problems in June. It looked like it was going to result in a second TJ surgery, but there hasn’t been any follow ups since he was shut down over a month ago. He’s now been in the minors for 5 seasons, and pitched a grand total of 175 innings, and only 74 in the past 3 seasons. Given his laundry list of injuries (elbow, shoulder, back, etc.), it’s sadly probably time to write him off.
Hopefully, he’ll recover from his current injuries, and get a chance- here or somewhere else, but I’m not very optimistic.
Drew Ward is not injured, he just hasn’t been playing very well to warrant mention- slashing just .237/.326/.263 over the past 10 games.
Must say that I’m saddened that Drew Ward is hitting a bit of a wall since that slash line you just put up is doubtlessly accurate. I still think that kid is gonna to do more for the Nats than Bryce/but I’m a biased so I suggest you reject my advice/to put a bunch of money on that prediction and don’t think twice.
