A three-run 7th put Harrisburg on top for good as they outlasted Akron for a 7-5 win to take the series, 2-1. The rally took Bryan Harper off the hook for blowing a 3-2 lead in the top of the inning and turned A.J. Cole’s quality start into another no-decision. Tyler Herron let in one of two inherited runners in the 8th, but closed out the game for the save. Cutter Dykstra reached base five times with three singles and two walks to pace the Senators offense. Roster moves: While not official yet, UTs Sean Nicol and Justin Bloxom have been released to make room for recently signed RHP Scott McGregor (not the son of former Orioles LHP) and OF Drew Vettleson, according to Geoff Morrow of the Patriot-Times.

The win went to Joe Webb, who walked two and struck out one while pitching the 8th and 9th innings. After splitting two with the G-Mets last week, it’s three against the Cardinals (away-home-away) then three against the Marlins (home-away-home) this week.
DSL Nationals — OFF DAY
A 3-3 week has dropped the D-Nats three back in the Boca Chica South. This week it’s home games against the Rojos, Red Sox, Giants and Rockies with a pair of home games against the Red Sox and Giants.
good for the Chiefs fans, after four years of declining attendance I hope the success translates for the franchise at the gates as well.
Amen to that. Chiefs have been godawful. The fates have no need to punish the people of Syracuse’s baseball team just because Jim Boeheim coaches the college basketball team. Chiefs are going all the way this year! Cheer, cheer, cheer for The Chiefs! Fire up the bandwagon!!!
Am I wrong, Luke, in saying that Brett
Mooneyham rehabbing in auburn says
Something about his mental / physical
Mechanics while Hagerstown could use a fifth
Guy instead of cooper and bullpen start?
Bluxom release speaks to Skole ‘s AB

Rejoins sens attack.
Everybody wear plaid for McGregor!!
Both Hagerstown and Potomac are home tonight. Bryce Harper could rehab against little leaguers and get his work in. Yet, The Nats diss the Hagerstown Suns, a winning team whose market could really use a shot in the arm of publicity, and send him to Potomac. How popular was Bryce when he was in Hagerstown? Some of the Suns’ fans tell me that he had some maturity issues. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Dude. They’re not dissing Hagerstown, they just don’t want to put Harper on the bus for 3+ hours. It’s 73 miles to Hagerstown, 23 miles to Woodbridge.
When Harper played in Hagerstown he was 18. 18! I’d have been shocked if there weren’t some maturity issues. I doubt that has anything to do with the decision on where to rehab him.
We tend to forget just how young Harper still is; Ben Badler noted on his twitter feed that, as a third year major leaguer playing in A Ball on a rehab assignment, Harper is still the third youngest player on the Potomac Nationals! Crazy.
You are one hundred percent correct. But Drew Ward is just as young correct? And I talked to him. And he’s mature. But he’s making a fraction of the bank that Harper is. My students will role model Bad Boy Harper who drops an F-bomb when he strikes out in Spring Training! That was what turned me off to him. He’s like Michael Jordan in that respect. Great player. Has to learn how to mature. Michael Jordan never did grow out of it as his speech upon entering the Basketball Hall of Fame revealed.
Thanks for pointing out the driving distance.
/you’re right now that I’ve calmed down.
