Norfolk 5 Syracuse 4
• Simmons (L, 0-1) 6IP, 6H, 5R, 5ER, BB, 5K, 2HR
• Martin 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Rhymes 2-4, 2R, 2-2B
• Moore 2-4, R, 2B

Norfolk got to James Simmons twice for two-run homers in the early going as the Chiefs could not complete the comeback from 5-0, losing by a 5-4 count.

Harrisburg — OFF DAY
The Senators return home for a pair of three-game series against New Britain and Akron, having their first winning road trip with a 5-1 swing swing through Erie and Bowie last week.

Potomac — ALL-STAR BREAK
Stephen Perez is expected to start at SS while 1B Shawn Pleffner may see action coming off the bench at the California-Carolina League game in Wilmington, DE.

Hagerstown — ALL-STAR BREAK
Wilmer Difo is expected to start at 2B for the Northern Division, but it’s not as hopeful for John Wooten (officially on the DL) and Spencer Kieboom (one of two reserve catchers) to get any ABs. Nick Pivetta, Austin Voth, and Jake Walsh were named to the team as pitchers, but with Voth having been promoted and Pivetta and Walsh pitching over the weekend, it’s possible no Suns will appear on the mound in Hickory.

Batavia 4 Auburn 3
• A. Martinez 4⅓ IP, 4H, 3R, 3ER, BB, 0K, HR, WP
• D. Williams 2⅔ IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 4K, 2HBP
• Bafidis (L, 0-1) 1IP, 2H, R, ER, BB, K
• Read 2-4, 2B, CS
• Mejia 1-3, R, 3B, 2RBI

Auburn gave up three runs early and rallied to tie it at 3-3 in the 5th but lost in the bottom of the 8th on a pair of one-out singles sandwiched around a walk off losing pitcher Cory Bafidis.

DSL Nationals 17 DSL Mariners 16
• Nunez 1⅓ IP, 7H, 7R, 7ER, 3BB, 0K, 0HR
• Rosario 2⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Morel (W, 1-0) 3IP, 1H, 2R, 0ER, 3BB, 5K

• Pimentel 2-4, 2R, HR, 2BB, 3RBI
• Mota 2-5, 2R, 2B, HR, BB, 2RBI, OF assist at 2B
• 16 Team BBs

The D-Nats overcame deficits of 7-0, 14-7, and 16-9 and scored the last eight runs of this slugfest — including five in the 9th — for a 17-16 win.
