The Tide tied it with an unearned run in the 8th and washed over Ryan Mattheus and Warner Madrigal for three in the 9th for a 4-1 victory. Destin Hood’s removal from the game was due to knee soreness, per Lyndsay Kramer of Syracuse.com.

The Senators won their seventh straight game and were on the verge of an 8-0 shutout before the wheels wobbled in the 9th as the BaySox got three walks and an error and scored four times in the 9th for the final 8-4 tally.

Potomac took the opener by scoring twice in 5th and 6th innings and three in 7th, overcoming a four-run outburst by Winston-Salem in the 6th, to walk off with a 7-6 win.

The Suns lost the game, 3-1, and the division lead as the Grasshoppers took their 9th straight. With Greensboro taking the one and only series between them in the first half, Hagerstown must win today and the Grasshoppers must lose for the Suns to win the Sally League Northern Division. The D-Mariners erupted for five in the 5th while the D-Nats were held to just three hits and committed seven (7) errors in the 9-0 loss.
Luke Erickson, you published so early that I didn’t have time to write up the Harrisburg game and inform the public about Michael Taylor’s great deeds! Well, since you’ve published the lines from the stars and informed folks about the score, I’ll simply write up another amazing night for Michael “The Kids Want To Be Like this Mike” Taylor.
Mr. Taylor (who is presently sporting a 1.025 OPS, which is presently tops in the Eastern League) decided that tonight was not going to be the night for lowly Bowie. Mr. Taylor rudely announced his presence to the Bowie Baysox on his first at bat of the game with a double. That wasn’t very nice, and I’m sure that the hometown fans at Prince George’s County Stadium were not pleased. Mr. Taylor said hello to his third base coach when he advanced to third on a ground out by Caleb Ramsey. Finally, Mr. Taylor scored the first run for the Harrisburg Senators, which put them ahead to stay, when Cutter “Please Forget My Father’s Misdeeds on Father’s Day” Dykstra doubled him home. The Senators now led 1-0 and Mr. Taylor could take his place in the outfield knowing that he had done his own small part in initiating a Harrisburg Senators victory.
In the top of the second, Michael Taylor was left holding the bat in his hand when Brian Jeroloman, a catcher not likely heralded for his speed, was caught stealing. I believe that any Harrisburg Senators fans in attendance were most likely vexed and perplexed, but I would not know because I stayed home and went to yoga instead of watching the contest.
In the Top of the Third, the lowly Bowie Baysox decided that they liked Michael Taylor so much that they wanted him to talk to their first baseman! They allowed him to reach on an error. The Bowie Baysox then decided that they liked Michael Taylor so much that they gave him second base on a throwing error as well! But remember young little leaguers, greed kills rallies. If your opponent wants to give you second base, that doesn’t mean they want to give you third base too. Christian Walker of the now Mighty Bowie Baysox recovered enough of his wits to hurl the ball from first to third and gun Michael Taylor down at third base.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Daniel Alvarez foolishly hit the ball to centerfield. Michael “I Want to Be Like This Mike” Taylor caught the ball, and he was out.
In the fifth inning, Michael Taylor devised a plan to make sure that Brian Jeroloman did not get thrown out on the basepaths. He decided to single him home from third base following a Brian Jeroloman single and an Adrian Sanchez double. That led to Michael Taylor’s 50th RBI (tied for 3rd in the Eastern League). Unfortunately, Michael Taylor was left lonely at first base following a Caleb Ramsey sacrifice fly (Rumor has it Michael Taylor smiled at this point. Rumor is unconfirmed as of 6:54AM on Sunday.) and a Cutter “I’d Like to Make the Major Leagues Like My Daddy But Not be a Jerk” Dykstra strikeout. For those unlike Mike Rizzo who care about the score more than Michael Taylor, Harrisburg led 3-0 at this point.
In the 7th inning, Michael “There Goes that Man Again” Taylor contributed to a five run rally that blew the game open. With Jeroloman on first and Sanchez and second, Michael “You Can’t Stop Me, You Can Only Hope To Contain Me Or Watch Me Get Myself Out” Taylor, singled to load the bases. He did this out of generosity for his fellow teammates. He could have hit the ball out of the ballpark and collected all three RBI for himself, but he wanted the Bowie Baysox pitcher, Chris Petrini (ERA now 5.49 after his .1IP 5ER performance that we’re in the middle of), to have the psychological pressure of pitching with the bases loaded. Apparently, Michael Taylor is a master of psychology as well as baseball. Following a Ramsey lineout, Cutter Dykstra singled home Brian “I’m Glad I Can Just Walk Home Instead of Get Thrown Out at Second” Jeroloman for the Senators’ fourth tally. The bases remained loaded and Mr. Petrini was rumored to be sweating bullets. But what kind of bullets were they? Due to http://www.nationalsprospects.com meager budget, we were unable to send a reporter to the game to report just what kind of bullets they were. Well now, Matt Skole knew what to do. He cleared the bases with a double! Michael Taylor and all of his rowdy friends (Sanchez and Dykstra) crossed home plate. The Discombobulated Bowie Baysox even allowed Matt Skole to get some strategy advice from this third base coach when shortstop Garabez Rosa threw the ball away for an error. Kevin “I’m Not Related to Alicia But I’d Like to Get Some of Her Cash” Keyes then singled to score Matt Skole, resulting in the Senators eighth and final run and concluding a most profitable five run frame. Go back to your room and pay Kangaroo Court, Jason Martinson! You hit into the double play that ended the party.
In the bottom of the seventh, the now desperate Bowie Baysox again foolishly hit the ball to centerfield. This time, not only did Michael Taylor catch the ball, he threw it to first base and doubled off Michael Ohlman at first base. Perhaps the Bowie Baysox just wanted to go home at this point and were making every out they were allowed to make?
The Bowie Baysox just wanted to keep giving Michael Taylor pre-Father’s Day gifts. In the top of the 8th, Michael Taylor reached on an error by third baseman Niuman Romero. Sadly, Michael Taylor did not score this time because Caleb Ramsey went 0-4 and made the final out, a groundout to pitcher Marcel Prado.
In the top of the ninth, Jason Martinson, who had a truly abysmal 0-5 with two double plays and is hitting a meager .219, ended the frame with his second double play and prevented another Michael Taylor plate appearance. Again, it appears Mr. Martinson will be paying yet another fine to Kangaroo Court or spending more of his down time with the coaching staff. From what I hear, Jason Martinson is a Good Dude and will pick things up by the midpoint of the second half.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Never Say Die Bowie Baysox perished on this evening. Yes, they did rally for four runs. But they made the mistake of hitting a ball to center field. That was Daniel Alvarez making the first out to Michael Taylor. Not learning from their mistake, they hit another ball to Michael Taylor. That was the second out! Kyeong Kang should get the MVP for The Never Say Die Baysox. He managed to get a double past Michael Taylor and plate the Baysox fourth and final run. Following a walk, the Baysox finally decided not to hit the ball to Michael Taylor in the outfield. They hit the ball to left fielder Quincy Latimore. He recorded the third and final out. The AA franchise of Peter Angelos lost and the City of Harrisburg celebrated by playing what else? Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration”! Ric Flair let out a mighty “Woooooo!” in joy as well from wherever he is.
All’s well that ends well, especially when Michael Taylor, who someone on this board predicted would be Eastern League MVP when he visited Viera, had another stellar game.

You all don’t need to see the write ups or comments about Michael Taylor to know his greatness. It’s obvious! What is not obvious is what wonderful pictures Mr. Erickson will be taking while he’s on the trip.
Great job, SD. Michael Taylor is quickly moving up the prospect board. He was already before the season started touted by one longtime scout as “the best centerfielder walking the planet, majors or minors”. The question was always his bat………. well, I think a 1.000+ OPS answers that question. Luke says wait until he hits his first slump and see how he recovers but we’re 10 weeks in to the season and he hasn’t had one yet!
Travis Ott was impressive for Auburn, and he’s not even 19 yet! Yes folks, an 18 year old in Short Season A.
Sounds like happy times are here again and The rZo knows what he’s doing on draft day. That’s why I’m hoping he lets the big ticket items like Strasburg and Harper walk when their deals are done. Strasburg doesn’t like the media and is injury prone. Harper has maturity issues and he’s know Mike Trout. I’d like to see rZo correct his mistake and find the Mike Trout he could have drafted instead of Drew Storen.
