Erik Komatsu has been released, it appears. He is my prime example of why I still like the Rule 5 draft. This release may be the beginning of the end for Komatsu, but no matter what he had that cup of coffee. He played for the Cardinals and Twins, and you can’t take that away from him.
Poor guy, he really was snake-bitten once he got the the Nats organization. His 30 games in the show was very Bull Durhamish. He’s only 26, but ……..
Hey Luke – any idea of the status of Randy Encarnacion? For all the attention paid to Drew Ward, RE managed to put up a .959 OPS in the GCL at the age of 18. Is he in extended ST and bound for Auburn? Injured?
True, but Encarnacion played in 34 games and has a lot of OFs in front of him whereas Ward has nobody blocking him, really. I’d lean towards Auburn since it’s unusual for a player to repeat both the GCL and DSL.
Well, technically, Ward has Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon blocking him at third base … just not a lot in between him and the bigs 🙂
I just want to applaud you for finding something good to say about the Harrisburg Senators.
Komatsu lost out to Sam fuld in Minnesota
Even if he was released earlier
Nats getting nice work from guys like Johnson and
Other bench types.
Komatsu is a minor league version of Ian Stewart
Who just hit a wall unexpected .
Time and patience with sens
Like last year. Momentum can build after
Draft, promotions and a nifty deal .
I applaud your optimism, but I’m left to conclude that the Sens are simply bad at baseball. Except Michael Taylor. He is at least pretty good and possibly very good. Praying that he goes from Good To Great.
Pitching leather and timely hitting
