Catching Up On Transactions
The Hagerstown Suns and Harrisburg Senators have both announced a series of moves shuffling pitchers on and off their rosters:
HARRISBURG
- RHP Rob Wort placed on the 7-Day DL
- RHP Michael Broadway assigned from XST
While Wort may have been stung by the decision by Matthew LeCroy to lift him in his last outing, this has all the hallmarks of a procedural move designed to give the recently signed Broadway a chance to pitch.
HAGERSTOWN
- LHP Brett Mooneyham placed on the 7-Day DL
- LHP Bryan Harper placed on the 7-Day DL
- RHP Cody Davis assigned from XST
- RHP Christopher McKenzie assigned from XST
Unfortunately, as noted in the comments yesterday, Mooneyham’s early exit from the Wednesday afternoon game was due to “arm discomfort” per Lacy Lusk on Twitter. Lusk also noted that Ivan Pineyro, who exited in the first inning of Tuesday night’s game after taking a line drove off his glove-side hand, did not suffer a break. Otherwise, it’s the usual roster machinations for this time of year.
Any word on when Chris Young will join the rotation at Syracuse?
No, but given the narc-at-a-biker-rally beating Tanner Roark just took, it might sooner rather than later.
I saw that – but it wasn’t just Roark. Most runs and hits allowed (by one team) in an International League game in at least 40 years according to one source. Oof.
The only pitcher who didn’t give up any runs was Romero. But he have up 2 hits in 3 batters. I guess they aren’t the team in the system who has a sucky bullpen.
That mnakes well over 30 on farm DL lists.
Mooneyham falls under that Stanford curse…Spencer, Wayne, Fulmer, and McGeary….switch to UCLA and USC, Rizzo! LOL!
