Rochester 13 Lehigh Valley 11
• Lara 1⅔ IP, 6H, 7R, 7ER, 2BB, 2K
• Sinclair (W, 2-0) 1⅓ IP, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 0K
• Morales 3-5, 2R, 2HR, 3RBI
• Crews 2-5, 2R, 2B, HR(5), 4RBI
• Ford 2-4, 2R, BB, 3RBI
• Lipscomb 2-4, 2R, HR, 2BI, 2K, E

Yoyo Morales homered twice in the Red Wings’ nine-run 3rd that turned a 7-3 deficit into a 12-7 lead that the bullpen held (barely) in a 13-11 win over the IronPigs. Andry Lara got the benefit of the smelting as it covered for his seven runs on six hits and two walks over an inning and 2/3rds. Jack Sinclair (1⅓ IP, 1BB) was awarded the win despite Zach Penrod’s two perfect innings. Morales drove in three and also singled while Dylan Crews doubled, homered, and plated three, as did Harry Ford with a two singles and a walk.

Harrisburg 9 Altoona 4
• Ogasawara 4IP, 3H, 4R, 4ER, 3BB, 5K
• Mejia (W, 2-0) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 2K, HBP
• M. Romero 2-3, R, 2BB, RBI
• King 2-5, R, 3B, 3RBI
• Thomas 2-5, 2R, RBI, 2K

Harrisburg broke the seal with a five-run top of the 4th, which Shinnosuke Ogasawara nearly gave right back with a four-run bottom of the 4th. He finished with three hits and three walks amd five strikeouts. Led by Erick Mejia (2IP), four relievers combined for five scoreless innings to secure the win. Max Romero Jr. reached base four times on two walks and two singles while Seaver King singled, tripled, and drove three in to lead the Senators offense. Roster moves: 1B Sam Brown placed on the 7-Day I.L.

Wilmington 10 Winston-Salem 5
• Y. Teleda 4IP, 4H, 3R, 3ER, 3BB, 3K
• Montero 1⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, 2BB, 2K
• Huizi (W, 4-1) 1⅓ IP, 1H, 1ER, 1BB, 1K
• R. Diaz 2-3, 2R, BB, 2B, RBI
• White 2-4, 2R, BB
• Hines 2-5, 3R
• Y. Cabrera 2-4, BB, CS

The Blue Rocks took the lead on two singles, a walk, a wild pitch, and another walk before Devin Fitz-Gerald hit a grand slam to punctuate the five-run frame as Wilmington smoked Winston-Salem, 10-5. Yoel Tejeda Jr. wobbled through four innings with three runs let in on four hits and three walks with three whiffs. Eiker Huizi picked up the win as the pitcher of record for getting the last out of the 6th despite giving up a run in the 7th. Randal Diaz reached base three times on a double, single, and a walk as did Yeremy Cabrera and T.J. White with two singles and a walk to lead Wilmington’s 13-hit parade.

Salem 3 Fredericksburg 1
• Fischer 5IP, 4H, 0R, 1BB, 3K
• Otanez (BS, 1; L, 0-1) 1IP, 3H, 3R, 3ER, 1BB, 1K
• Walsh 3-4, 2B(5)
• Willits 2-4, R, BB, 2B, SB

Fredricksburg’s five-game winning streak ended with a 3-1 loss to Salem. Carson Fisher tossed five scoreless innings with four hits, one walk, and three K’s and left with a 1-0 lead. That went buh-bye in the 8th as Johan Otanez was dinged for all three RidgeYaks runs on three hits and a walk for the blown-save-loss. Jacob Walsh singled twice and doubled once while Eli Willits reached base three times on a walk, double, and a single and stole his 23rd base (2nd in the C.L.) to lead the FredNats offense. Roster moves: SS Gaving Fien activated from the 7-Day I.L.

FCL Nationals 4 FCL Mets 2
• Beeter 1IP, 1H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 2K, HR
• J. Robles 2IP, 0H, 0H, 2BB, 1K, BK
• Cerkownyk (W, 1-0) ⅓ IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 0K, 1-0 IR-S
• N. De La Cruz 2-2, R, BB, HR, RBI
• B. Martinez 1-2, R, BB, HR, RBI

Three F-Nats homered while a position player may have gotten the win in a 4-2 decision over the F-Marlins. Clayton Beeter “worked” on some things as he served up a HR and struck out two in his single inning thrown. The win is listed as Brady Cerkownyk for allegedly getting the last out in the 5th before the FCL Nationals took the lead on a two-run, pinch-hit HR by Carlos Tavares. Nauris De La Cruz and Browm Martinez also homered in the win (maybe). Roster moves: RHP Clayton Beeter assigned from Washington for MLB Rehab.

you’ve got to hand it to Morales for making the most of his early season, stats improving in all areas. if he keeps it up for the rest of the month he may force the Nats’ hand.

Crews and Ford having good recent success, keep it up fellas.

Cruz and Fitz-Gerald both succeed after getting the A+ assignment largely associated with making room for others is A-. Cruz already up to AA, I suspect Fitz-Gerald is right behind him after King get moved up.

Was at the Red Wings game last night. First the good news is that Ortiz did not show any negative effects from his apparent injury 10 days ago. Tues was the first day he played since the injury. Second, don’t be too impressed by the power burst from the Red Wings as the wind was blowing out quite strong the first half of the game (box score said 8 mph but maybe at the end of the game). It didn’t help Lehigh too much because Red Wing pitchers couldn’t throw strikes and just opted to walk batters instead. Finally and I’m sure this isn’t the first time but for the Lipscomb / Hassell strike out / stealing double play. Hassell was on first base with no outs. Lipscomb has a 3-2 count. Hassell attempts steal of 2nd base, umpire calls ball four but catcher throws to 2nd base. 2nd base umpire makes no call I assume because he thinks ball 4. Lehigh challenges ball four and it is overturned to be a strikeout. Umpires then confer and call Hassell out. I don’t think Hassell slowed down because a base coach said something thinking ball 4 but I couldn’t tell from my view.
