The Red Wings scored in four consecutive innings, covering for some rather poor bullpen work as they extended their winning streak to eight with a 7-5 decision over the (ugh) WooSox. Jackson Kent won his AAA debut with two unearned runs on three hits and a walk over five frames. He struck out four. Zach Penrod allowed both inherited runners to score, Andre Granillo one of twom and Erik Tolman let in one run in the 8th before Eddi Yean cordero’d around a double, a walk, and a wild pitch in the 9th to earn his seventh save. Seaver King drove in four runs on a pair of doubles while Abimelec Ortiz hit a two-run HR and plated a third run on a groundout to lead the Rochester offense. Roster moves: RHP Luis Perales placed on the 7-day I.L.

Akron opened up a 1-0 game with a four-run 3rd and cruised to a 7-3 win over Harrisburg. Kyle Luckham took the brunt of the beating, giving up five runs on four hits and two walks over three innings to lose for the third time. Cayden Wallace had the sole extra-base hit for the Sens while going 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored while Cortland Lawson singled twice and drove in one to pace the Senators offense.
Jersey Shore vs. Wilmington – PPD
Rain struck again the Blue Rocks and BlueClaws again, as officials pulled the plug on this one due to poor field conditions, or as they used call it at the Pfitz, Saturday. They’re hoping to play two this afternoon.
Fredericksburg vs. Fayetteville – PPD
With multiple storms passing through central North Carolina last night, they opted to postpone this one rather than stop and start. An afternoon doubleheader has been scheduled.

The F-Nats scored twice in the 3rd on single, two walks, and HBP with the bases loaded to go up 3-1, a lead which the ‘pen held for the win. Marlon De La Cruz gave up the F-Marlins run o two hits and a walk while striking out two over two and 2/3rds innings. Juan Lopez stranded a runner while getting out of 4th on a 2-6-2 foiled double steal, then put up goose eggs in the 5th and 6th to earn the win. Tyler Schoff pitched a 1-2-3 seventh with two whiffs to get the save. Nauris De La Cruz walked twice and had the aforementioned Homer Simpson RBI while Braya Cortesia went 1-for-3 with an RBI single to lead the FCL Nationals offense.
