Career Stats
After a 33-game stint @ the City Isle, Morales was parked in Rochester for the rest of ’25 – playing 128 games vs. 75 in ’24. Scouts now think he’s better suited to play 1B vs. 3B where “his hands work better.” At the plate, Morales’s power plays well to the opposite field but still has a tendency to chase (164K). Barring a veteran signing, he’ll be competing to take the 1B spot in D.C. in ’26
Sam Brown   Abimelec Ortiz
Born: 2/22/02
Ht. 5’10”
Wt. 230
Bats: L
Throws: L
Career Stats
Picked up in the MacKenzie Gore trade, Ortiz earned a spot on the Rangers 40-man roster this past November after splitting 2025 between AA and AAA and smacking 25 HRs between the two levels. At 5’10” and 230 lbs, he’s limited to 1B/DH (possibly FB) so his future value is basically power from the left side, presuming his 2025 nos. weren’t a product of the Southern and Pacific Coast League ballparks.

Wt. 210

Career Stats
Brown was picked up along with Jake Eder in a deadline trade with the Angels, then quietly posted an .856 OPS in 35 games with the Senators. He’s spent his entire minor-league career at AA, but seems destined to spend a third season at AA, unless or until Morales makes it to The Show. Scouts like his ability to make contact and the glove but feel he’ll struggle against MLB pitching.
Angel Requena   Angel Requena

Career Stats
Like Carlos Tavares a season ago, Requena’s semi-decent production, DOB, and the Nats utter lack of 1B depth gets him a nod here. He’s two years removed being a six-figure IFA, but there’s not much else to be found about him online that’s not already on this site.
