The NationalsProspects.com Top 11 Position Players

The Ferrer-for-Ford trade kind of messed things up, so I made the executive decision to slot the Nats’ latest trade acquisition at #2 and drop everyone one spot while expanding the list by one. Unlike BA, MLB Pipeline, et al, this is one-and-done… even if there’s another trade this week.

  1. Eli Willits
  2. Harry Ford
  3. Seaver King (2)
  4. Yohandy Morales (3)
  5. Ethan Petry
  6. Angel Feliz (10)
  7. Christian Franklin
  8. Luke Dickerson (9)
  9. Marconi German
  10. Andrew Pinckney
  11. Coy James

Others receiving votes: Chad Lomavita, Sam Petersen, Phillip Glasser, Orvelis Martinez, Christhian Vaquero, Brayan Cortesia, Sir Jamison Jones

In the voting, there were just three players listed on every ballot (Willits, King, and Morales). Just two more were listed on seven of the eight (Petry and Franklin). [Insert obligatory caveat about the sample size here.]

I’m not sure what to make of this. Most of the AATTL players either played less than 100 games in the Nats system or were called up. Perhaps it’s that ineffable (and sounds kind of dirty) “I like the cut of his jib” that led some folks to vote for player X vs. player Y in a sea of Zzzzzzzzzzz.
