Buffalo got three in the 1st but the Rochester pitchers locked in and held the Bisons at bay, enabling the Red Wings to chip away and tie the game at 3-3 after 10 despite going a measly 2-for-13 with RISP. Alas, Buffalo pushed across the winning run in the 9th and Rochester had no response to lose, 4-3. Bryce Conley gave up the first three Bisons runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six to post his fourth quality start of the season. Ryan Loutos gave up the fourth run (unearned, natch) on two hits in his single inning pitched. José Tena reached base four times on a walk, two singles, and a double while C.J. Stubbs homered to lead the Red Wings offense. Roster moves: OF Andrew Pinckney placed on the 7-Day I.L.; OF Carlos De La Cruz, UT Viandel Peña reassigned from Harrisburg; RHP Erick Mejia placed on the Developmental List.

Four Senators pitchers and a rehabbing Josiah Gray combined to shut out the RubberDucks, 1-0 on five hits in an extra-inning win. Gray was feathered for four hits in the space of eight batters with an assist from Sam Brown, who threw out a runner at home plate in the 1st. Lucas Knowles got the last two outs of the 9th and pitched a scoreless 10th to get the win. Branden Boisserie broke up Akron’s no-hitter with a one-out double in the 4th. In the 10th, Max Romero Jr. got aboard on a sacrifice bunt when the RubberDucks tried to erase the free runner (Kevin Made) at third. Johnathon Thomas ladi down an even better bunt to squeeze in Made to win the game. Roster moves: C Caleb Farmer activated from Developmental List.
