| Nats Deal Relievers to Angels, Soroka to Cubs for Four Minor-Leaguers
TRADE #1 – ANGELS Eder, who turns 27 in October, was ranked #24 by Baseball America in its June update and is now Washington’s #29 prospect on MLB Pipeline. It’s the second time he has been traded this year, having been traded from the White Sox for cash at the end of March. He’s made eight relief appearances for the Angels, 13 starts for the Salt Lake Bees. Brown was a 12th Rd. pick in 2023 out of Washington State and has played two seasons at AA in the Southern League, posting a .226/.320/.645 in 218 games. He turns 24 in September. TRADE #2 Cruz posted a .745 OPS as an 18-y.o. (turns 19 next month) in the Arizona Complez League. He was drafted in the 3rd Rd. in 2024 but did not play until this year, thanks to the brilliant decision to have the complex leagues end in July instead of August. He was ranked the Cubs’ #13 prospect by MLB Pipeline. Franklin will most likely join the Red Wings this weekend, having batted .265/.393/.427 in 86 games for the Iowa Cubs. He turns 26 in November and was drafted in the 4th Rd. of the 2021 draft. |

The Red Wings went deep five times while they outslugged the Knights, 13-8. Bryce Conley fell one out shy of qualifying for the win, giving up three runs on four hits (one HR) and three walks while striking out six. Seth Shuman closed out the 5th and retired the side in the 6th to get the win, his third of ’25. Francisco and Nick Schnell both hit two longballs and combined for six runs and six RBI to lead Rochester’s 11-hit parade. Harrisburg drew nine walks but could not take advantage in a 7-1 loss to Binghamton. Kyle Luckham took the loss, stampeded for five runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He stuck out four while losing his seventh game. Matt Suggs homered to break up the shutout. Branden Boisserie singled twice and walked once to lead the Sens hit column. Davian Garcia gave up all four Hudson Valley runs on a pair of two-run HRs and seven hits total over four innings to take the loss. He walked two and struck out five. Donta’ Williams reached base four times on a single, double, and two walks while Jeremy De La Rosa hit a two-run HR and drew a walk. The rest of the Wilmington lineup went 2-for-25 with three walks and eight strikeouts.
