Syracuse jumped on Cade Cavalli for runs in each of his three innings thrown en route to handing Rochester its seventh shutout, 8-0. Cavalli was strafed for eight hits (one HR), walked one, and struck out four to lose for the second time at AAA. Robert Hassell and Jose Tena both went 1-for-2 with a walk. The rest of the lineup was 0-for-17 with a walk (Darren Baker) and a hit-by-pitch (Trey Lipscomb).

Believe it or not, it was 2-2 going into extras before the Mets sent 10 men to the plate and scored eight of ’em runs to win 10-2 and complete the doubleheader sweep. Jack Sinclair retired just one of six batters faced in the 8th and was charged with six runs (five earned) on four hits and a walk. A dishonorable mention to Patrick Weigel, who came on with the bases loaded and one out and emptied them along with two runs of his own on a HR. Nick Schnell and Andrew Pinckney both singled twice to lead the Red Wings seven-hit assault. Roster moves: LHP Shinnosuke Ogasawara returned from MiLB Rehab, activated from 7-Day I.L.; RHP Adrian Sampson placed on the 7-Day I.L.

Tyler Stuart came up shaking his right arm after his 14th and final pitch of the night – most likely the latest case of Nats elbow. Meanwhile, the RubberDucks doubled up the Senators, 4-2. The loss went to Dustin Saenz after giving up the go-ahead run in the 3rd on two hits and a walk. Harrisburg hitters blasted Akron pitchers for four singles and a double by Johnathon Thomas, who was the sole Sens batter to reach base twice.

Hudson Valley erased a 2-0 Wilmington lead a with a grand slam in the 6th only to have the Blue Rocks answer in the 8th with three singles and three walks for five runs to win, 7-4. Jackson Kent left with two outs in the 6th after seven hits allowed. He walked none and struck out six. Austin Amaral got the next seven outs, allowing three hits and a walk and getting huge assist from Sam Petersen, who gunned down a runner at the plate to end the 7th. T.J. White singled, tripled, and scored two runs as did Marcus Brown on two singles and a walk to lead the Wilmington offense.

The Cannon Ballers bombed the FredNats for three in the 2nd and two in the 6th en route to a 5-1 win over the FredNats. Angel Roman was trotted out again to throw a season-high six innings but gave up five runs for the third time in 11 starts (fifth time in 14 appearances) on nine hits. Randal Diaz doubled and scored a run while Francesco Barbieri tripled for the two extra-base hits out of six collected by Fredericksburg.

The FCL Nationals closed out the week with a 2-1 win over the FCL Marlins. Liam Sullivan got the first eight outs and stranded all six runners he put on base while striking out five. Gabriel Agostini got the “W” with two scoreless innings while Tommy Kane got the save by striking out both batters he faced. Dashyll Tejada singled twice, scored a run, and stole three bases while Luis Arias and Angel Feliz rounded out the F-Nats hit column with a single apiece.

The D-Nats led from start to finish, tripling up the D-Mariners, 6-2. Yaiker Torrelles spun four scoreless to start the game, allowing two hits, no walks, and striking out six. Jose Sanches earned the win though the gave up a run on four hits and two walks with three whiffs. Brayan Cortesia led DSL Nationals hit column with three singles and a double from the leadoff spot.
