After afflicting their fans with a 147-minute rain delay, the RubberDucks rewarded those who stuck around with a 5-4 win in shortened-by-rule seven innings. Mason Thompson warmed up the Akron bats with a first-inning BP for one run on three hits with no walks and no strikeouts. Kyle Luckham came on and went the next four, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five. He was tagged with the loss, his third. The Senators squeezed four runs from five hits and five walks, but went 0-for-5 with RISP and left four runners on base. A pitcher’s duel in regulation quickly turned into a battle of who could play worse, with the FredNats “winning” by handing the Cannon Ballers a 7-3 win in 11 innings. The loss went to Ryan Minckler, who retired two of eight batters while allowing three free runner and three of his own on two hits, three walks, and a Robles. Fredericksburg starter Davian Garcia tossed five no-hit innings, issuing two walks, fanning four, and catching one looking. The FredNats singled four times but just once in 11 RISP chances as they were unable to make Kannapolis pitchers pay for issuing seven walks. Roster moves: CF Enmanuel Ramirez placed on the 7-day I.L.

Rain claimed the game between the FCL Nationals and the FCL Astros. They’ll make it up today when the two teams play again.

In the continuation of the June 16 game, the D-Nats tacked on two more runs to go up 9-0 but lost the shutout on a homer in the 7th for a 9-1 win. Juan Lopez finished the game with one run, two hits, and three walks while striking out a career-high of seven. The DSL Nationals got nine runs from nine hits, eight walks, and seven stolen bases, with Eddie Marmolejos leading the charge with a walk, single, and a double.

The DSL Nationals posted a picket fence in the middle innings but the DSL Mets Blue had three two-spots to take the “aftercap,” 7-3. Jean Robles was lifted after three runs on four hits and two walks. He dodged the decision while striking out six. Enmanuel Carela took the loss after giving up two runs over two innings on two hits and a walk. Eddie Marmolejos doubled twice and scored twice while Jonierbis Garces homered to lead the D-Nats attack.
