With wet grounds and the threat of more rain on the way, they pulled the plug on Tuesday’s game between the Red Wings and RailRiders. A doubleheader was already on tap for tonight, so the makeup date yesterday’s rainout is yet to be determined. Richmond held Harrisburg to four field goals, but were kept out of the end zone in a 19-0 bitch-slapping. Four pitchers combined to shut out Richmond on four hits. Hyun-Il Choi won for the first time in ’25, as the Rule 5 pick allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six. Jared McKenzie was the beer man in the 15-hit parade, though he drew three of the 12 walks issued by the Flying Squirrels. Joe Naranjo led the way with a single, two doubles, three runs scored, three RBI while Cayden Wallace, Max Romero Jr., and Nick Schnell each went deep. Roster moves: RHP Erick Mejia reassigned from Fredericksburg.

The Renegades broke through for two in the 8th to take a 3-2 lead but had their bounty retrieved by Branden Boisserie’s two-run HR to give Wilmington a 4-3 walkoff win. Jackson Kent pitched into the 8th for the first time in his career and struck out a career high of 11, allowing two runs on five hits (one HR) and a walk. He was rewarded with a no-decision when Anthony Arguelles gave up the tying run on a wild pitch and the go-ahead run on a two-out single. Arguelles would get the blown-save-win after pitching around a walk in the 9th by picking him off. Caleb Lomavita led off the 9th with his eighth HBP and, after Elijah Green’s 50th strikeout, came around to score on the Boissiere blast. Roster moves: RHP Thomas Schultz reassigned from Rochester.

While they only score 10 in the southern ‘Burg, it was still a shutout by five pitchers on four hits, and every starter had a hit. Jake Bennett went the first three in his second post-TJ outing, allowing one hit, walking none, and striking out three. Frank Bruni walked one over the next two to get the “W.” Kevin Made led the way with two singles, two runs scored, three RBI, and a double, followed by Christhian Vaquero and Jackson Ross, who both went 2-for-5. Roster moves: RHP Matt Bollenbacher reassigned from Rochester.

The F-Nats scored three times in their first three “ups” to take a 6-0 lead and held off the F-Cards for 7-5 win. Darrel Lunar got the start and went four frames, allowing one run on a homer. He walked none and struck out five. Leodarlyn Colon was credited with the win with four runs allowed (one earned) on four its (one HR) and no walks. He struck out four. Pablo Aldonis emerged from witness protection to make his first appearance since May 12, 2023. He picked up the save with 1-2-3 inning and two whiffs. Sam Peterson reached base three times and scored twice as did Angl Feliz, who doubled and tripled to power the FCL Nationals offense.
