Andrew Alvarez notched his second quality start but was in position to lose before Pinckney’s HR, with three runs let in on five hits (one HR) and a walk while striking out three. Carlos Romero picked up the win with a 1-2-3 seventh. Jackson Cluff reached base three times on two singles and a walk to pace the Rochester offense.

Chesapeake got to the first man out of the Harrisburg ‘pen for two runs to break a 1-1 tie and take the first game, 3-1. Hyun-Il Choi went the first five (or more) for the sixth straight start, giving up a run on five hits, no walks and striking out six. Ivan Armstrong walked two and gave up a double for the go-ahead run and that might have been the worst of it until Kevin Made botched the return throw on a would-be 3-6-1 DP sailing one over the 6’5″ Armstrong’s reach. Murphy Stehly reached base three times on a double, walk, and a single and scored the lone Sens run on the first of Max Romero’s three singles. The rest of the lineup went 1-for-19 with five walks and eight strikeouts.

A 3-0 lead was too small for the Blue Rocks ‘pen as the IronBirds capped off a four-run rally with a three-run HR to walk off Wilmington, 4-3. Tyler Stuart turned in four scoreless innings in his fourth rehab outing, allowing three hits, no walks, and striking out five. The blown-save-loss went to Anthony Arguelles as the 24-y.o. retired just two of seven batters faced with three hits (one HR) and two walks given up. Erik Tolman was the opener and retired nine of ten batters faced with one hit, one walk, and five K’s. Wander Arias was credited with the win despite giving up two runs on two hit, two walks, and two Robles over two and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out one. Seaver King led the Wilmington hit column with two singles and a double while Branden Boissiere walked and hit a two-run HR and Gaving Dugas doubled and scored a run. Carolina broke through for two in the 11th to take a 4-2 lead and Fredericksburg struck out twice in the 11th with the bases loaded to fall, 4-3.
