A daily sweep! The first of the year!

So excited to see what Sykora can do in Wilmington.

Jackson Kent has been a really nice breakout player this year

Cavalli has a ways to go. not much velocity or command. even repeating his delivery was a challenge.

With Robert Hassell III making his first appearance as a Nat, I took a look at the hauls from the Nats trades. How do you think Rizzo did?

    The Scherzer/Turner/Schwarber etc. haul:

We do have our catching corps from here. But I was hoping for better from this haul. I guess it comes down to how good you think Keibert is.

    1. Keibert Ruiz, C WAS
    2. Josiah Gray, RHP WAS
    3. Mason Thompson, RHP WAS
    4. Riley Adams, C WAS
    5. Seth Shuman, RHP AAA
    6. Drew Millas C AAA
Lane Thomas, OF CLE traded for Alex Clemmey, Rafael Ramirez, Jose Tena
    Jordy Barley, SS/2B
    Donovan Casey, OF (Mexican League)
    Gerardo Carrillo (AA for Texas)
    Aldo Ramirez RHP
Richard Guasch, RHP (just signed to AA by Tigers)

    The Soto/Bell haul:

Mike Rizzo earned his money here. There are 3 core members of the MLB team and 2 other possible pieces.

    1. McKenzie Gore MLB
    2. C.J. Abrams MLB
    3. Robert Hassell MLB
    4. Wood MLB
    5. Susana AA
    Voit (Mexican League)

    The Floro/Winker/Thomas haul:

Too early to say. Clemmey is probably the key piece here.

    1. Wallace AA
    2. Stuart AAA (REHAB)
    3. Clemmey Hi A
    4. R. Ramirez A
    5. Tena MLB
    6. Chaparro AAA

I still maintain we did not get nearly nearly enough from the Scherzer /Turner trade…it should have been a much better haul.

On a side, If that scouting report on Cavalli’s performance yesterday is right, then I have given up hope he will be able to help out

Yeah, the Scherzer/Turner trade was a disaster, even if Ruiz turns into an average MLB player, which he’s decidedly not been in almost 4 seasons to date (1.3 WAR in over 400 games, yikes).

The Soto trade, on the other hand, has been magnificent, even if Hassell and Susana don’t turn into major leaguers. Wood alone is nearly good enough return, but Abrams and Gore in the mix too is excellent business.

Good to see the the recent promotions to Washington and within the system. Will Morales be playing first base in Rochester? He has been strictly playing at 3rd lately in Harisburg. A House call up may be imminent?
