He was in position to win nevertheless until Bryan Cáceres was brought out of cold storage to blow the save with three runs let in on two hits and three hit batsmen. T.J. Jake Bennett emerged from witness protection to turn in three innings with one run let in on four hits, no walks, and four whiffs. He would be charged with the loss. Fredericksburg drew seven walks and mustered five hits, four of which came with RISP. Roster moves: LHP Jake Bennett assigned from Wilmington for MiLB rehab; SS Kevin Made assigned from Harrisburg for MiLB Rehab.
Lara came out of the game after it appeared he may have tweaked his hamstring. looked more precautionary than serious given his high pitch count.
Bennett looked sharp if not electric. will be interesting to see how his stuff plays higher up this year.
Any reports on Bennett’s velo?
