Worcester vs. Rochester – PPD
With temps not expected to break 40, officials took nature’s cue and put yesterday’s game on ice until today for a late-afternoon doubleheader.
Roster moves: UT Trey Lipscomb recalled to Washington.

A four-run 8th erased a 9-5 deficit but was quickly forgotten when Peyton Williams took Junior Santos deep to lead off the 9th and walk off Harrisburg, 10-9. Sens starter Dustin Saenz reverted to the mean with six runs let in (three earned) on six hits over four innings. He walked two and struck out five Jeremy De La Rosa and Daylen Lile both hit two-run doubles in the 8th and combined to go 5-for-8 with five RBI and three runs scored to lead the Harrisburg offense.

The Blue Rocks fell behind 9-1 after five but put up crooked numbers in three straight innings before running out of game to fall 10-7. Alex Clemmey dropped his second decision after giving up four runs on two hits (one HR) and five walks over three innings. He struck out four and hit a batter. The relievers, save for Thomas Schultz, were just as ineffective as they allowed six runs and issued eight walks over the final five innnings. The Blue Rocks marched to a ten-hit parade, led by Gavin Dugas, who reached base three times on a walk, single, and one of six doubles on the night for the Blue Rocks.

Fayetteville broke open a 3-1 game with a three-run 7th and cruised to a 7-1 win over Fredericksburg. Bryan Polanco didn’t make it out of the 1st as he was lifted after 33 pitches to six batters. He was charged with two runs on five hits (one HR) while striking out one. Nate Rombach ended the no-hit bid with a single in the 4th while Christhian Vaquero homered in the 6th to end the shutout. All nine Fredericksburg batter struck out at least once, with four batters whiffing twice for a total of 13.

    Egad, 27 runs allowed in three games.

    Lile looking solid at AA at age 22. They seem to have mostly given up on him playing CF, so the bar is high for him to show enough power as a corner OF. Hassell is the one they’re keeping in CF (for now).

    looks like the last blast of winter has moved through, hopefully the excitement level here heats up as well.
