Well, it’s not quite payback but Rochester will probably take it as they hung a 12-3 loss on Worcester and ended an eight-game losing streak. Jack Sinclair was the opener, giving up a run on three hits and no walks while striking out three. Patrick Weigel was awarded the win for stranding two while getting six outs against five batters with no hits, no walks, and three whiffs. Brady House singled twice, homered twice, scored thrice, and drove in four while Andrew Knizer reached base four times on two safeties, a base on balls, and a big fly. The Red Wings racked up a season-best 17 hits and struck out just five times while drawing five walks.
New Hampshire 4 Harrisburg
• M. Gomez 3IP, 6H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 5K
• Armstrong (L, 1-1) 2IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 0K, PO @ 1B
• De La Cruz 2-4, R, HR, RBI
• Lile, 2-5, 2B, CS
The Senators led twice – 1-0 and 2-1 – but were doubled up by the Fisher Cats, 4-2 for their third loss of the series. Miguel Gomez was the opener and scattered six hits ove three innings, allowing one run, no walks, and striking out five. The loss went to Ivan Armstrong, who gave up the go-ahead run in the 7th. Carlos De La Cruz singled and homered while Daylen Lile singled and doubled. The rest of the Harrisburg lineup went 2-for-23 and and 0-for-10 with RISP.
Hudson Valley 8 Wilmington 0

Three Hudson Valley pitchers combined to shut out Wilmington on four hits, 8-0, extending the Blue Rocks’ losing streak to five games. Blue Rocks starter Travis Sthele was in ’24 Sunday form, giving up all eight Renegades runs on seven hits and a Robles over two and 2/3rds innings. Chad Lomavita broke up the Renegades’ no-hitter with the first of his two singles in the 2nd while Brandon Pimentel and Seaver King also had safeties to round out the Wilmington hit column of four (4).
Fredericksburg 2 Fayetteville 0
• Cavalli 4IP, 1H, 0R, 2BB, 3K, E, 46-29 PIT-K
• Mejia (W, 2-0) 2IP, 0H, 0R, 2BB, 4K
• Bloebaum (SV, 1) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Mota 2-3, R, BB, 3B, SB
• Peoples 1-3, R, BB, 2SB
Cade Cavalli made his first appearance in nearly 10 months and was among the four FredNats pitchers who combined to shut out the Woodpeckers, 2-0 on three hits. The 26-y.o. struggled with his command while working on his secondary pitches, but got through four innings with one hit, two walks, and three strikeouts. The win went to 30-y.o. Erick Mejia, who struck out four and walked two over two frames while Adam Bloebaum picked up the save with one hit and one whiff in the 8th and 9th innings. Jorgelys Mota reached base three times and scored on a Jackson Ross single – the lone hit in 12 RISP chances – while Nick “Power to the” Peoples scored the second run on a Cristhian Vaquero sac fly.
A Cavalli sighting! No word on whether Bigfoot will follow him in the rotation today.
There had been speculation that the Nats would ease Cade back into things as a reliever, but he’s obviously being stretched out. Just as obviously, he’s not sharp enough yet to be ready for prime time.
There have been debates among the prospect gurus about whether Cavalli is still the #2-3 level starter prospect he was once said to be. The honest answer is that no one knows. He’s much more of a wild card at this point than a likely piece of the future.
Because of all the injury time, even though Cavalli has been on the 40-man since 2022, he has yet to burn an option. Here’s hoping that the team won’t feel restricted by his MLB rehab time if he’s truly not ready in a month.
I’d say that “struggled” is a bit of a tough grade. both walks came in succession and after the first he became a little too obsessed with the runner. actually tried to pick him off first three times, the third of which was resulted in an error but in actuality would have been a balk had it been caught. he then tried to pick him off second as well. with two outs he wasn’t going anywhere. also finished off a play at first where he stretched into the splits for the toss to get the out.
all in all he looked to be throwing free and easy. I’d expect he’ll be starting in Rochester soon.
Sunday Solesky after Saturday Sthele ( away in to the night cause it’s just right …)
Is Bigfoot the Geico Bigfoot ?? lol
looking for a Yohandy Morales sighting, its been almost a week. just wondering if he hurt himself diving for the bunt last week
