Rochester was walked off for the second straight game, falling in extras on a two-out, two-run HR that turned a 7-6 loss into an 8-7 win for the RailRiders. Andry Lara made it throught just four innings, “thanks” to five walks that elevated his pitch count to 79. He allowed one run on four hits and struck out three. Patrick Weigel took the loss, giving up the aforementioned HR after working around a walk in the 10th. Drew Millas singled, doubled, and walked twice while Andrew Knizer singled twice and walked once to pace the Red Wings’ 14-hit, six-walk offense.
Harrisburg 2 Richmond 1
• Saenz (W, 1-1) 6IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 3K

The Senators scored single runs in each of the first two innnings and made it stand up for a 2-1 win. Dustin Saenz turned in the first quality start of the ’25 season, allowing the lone Flying Squirrels run on three hits and a walk while striking out three. Todd Peterson, Junior Santos, and Holden Powell followed with a scoreless inning apiece for a hold, hold, and save, respectively. Daylen Lile scored on a Donta’ Williams sac fly in the 1st and plated the second run with a single. Harrisburg racked up nine hits total, with Lile, Nick Schnell, and J.T. Arruda each having two hits.
Hub City vs. Wilmington – PPD
Wilmington did not lose because the Blue Rocks did not play, as rain postponed last night’s game and forced a doubleheader with the Spartanburgers this afternoon.
Salem vs. Fredericksburg – PPD
Likewise for the FredNats, who pulled the plug by midafternoon and will also shoot for twi-night twinbill to make up the game
Millas has started off extremely well. A pleasant bounce back after botching his shot at the roster in ST. His line is a very impressive .353 /.410 /.676. An interesting development is his increased usage at DH with 6 starts behind the plate and 3 at DH.
In DC, Ruiz looks like a man reborn, but Riley Adams hasn’t been goo, hitless in only 5 plate appearances (3 Ks to boot). But DH too is a concern. Josh Bell, despite going deep yesteray, is hitting a mere .175 /.327 /.375. Not the kind of production you’d expect from a DH.
I don’t think Rizzo will make any quick moves, but something to keep an eye on come May.
THE play of Harrisburgs evening was in the 9th when Yohandy made a diving catch on a bunted fly in front of the pitchers mound and doubled off the runner on first
