A2 picks up the mantle
Great start to the season by Alvarez. I’ve been kind of borderline on whether he’s a legit MLB prospect. This was a nice step toward proving that he might be.
Not a great start to the season by the hitters. Admittedly, it is probably 50 degrees colder in Upstate NY than it was in FLA. That should be a good-hitting lineup once it warms up, though.
Random note: I just discovered that Adon is two days older than Cavalli. It seems like Adon has been around forever. In some ways he has, as this is his ninth pro season.
Adon innings pitched: 628.1
Cavalli (including college): 349.2
And Alvarez is 10 months younger than both of them!
Interestingly, Alvarez has the exact same career ERA as Cavalli: 3.70. A lot fewer strikeouts, but also fewer walks.
Hope we’ll get a chance to see Cavalli pitch again, but I can’t ever remember a pitch to miss now 25 months after an injury (though do Cavalli’s 8 innings last season re-start that clock?)
I’m very interested to see what Lara can do at AAA. The prospect gurus remained pretty meh about him despite his strong 2024 season.
Ok what shall we read into Nick Schnell and Carlos De LaRosa in XST ?
Where have you gone TH White ?
Rutledge in Rochester stats today with cold weather makes me think of a game Floyd Youmanns threw for Expos at blustery Wrigley Field for Buck Rodgers
All he threw was fastballs .
