For better or worse, the Nats picked up where the Cubs left off and rushed him up the ladder despite his offensive struggles, most (if not all) of which can be attributed to spending no time in rookie-league. Scouts love the glove (and the double-plus arm) but given the Nats’ disdain for glove-first guys, it’s curious that they decided to push him to AA despite posting an OPS of only .680 in his third partial season at High-A

The Nats’ No. 1 pick in 2024, King joined the FredNats in mid-August and posted a .295/.367/.385 line with 10 SB’s in 20 games. Pro: he features a short-stroke, line-drive approach that will enable him to hit to all fields but probably without much power. Con: tends to be a free swinger and thus puts himself into pitcher’s counts. Defensively, he’s only adequate at SS but could also play 2B and 3B if he’s unable to improve his footwork and arm accuracy.

The Nats dropped a record-outside-of-the-first-round $3.8M to buy Dickerson, a two-sport standout (hockey) from NJ [insert Mike Trout reference here], out of a commit to UVa. He’s got elite power and elite speed [insert Elijah Green reference here]. His arm is fringy though, which could shift him to 2B or CF. He’s expected to begin ’25 at Low-A.

While Victor Hurtado got the higher bonus, Feliz delivered much more production – enough that he will probably come stateside. Feliz tied for the team lead in HRs and is expected to develop more power as he matures. While he played every game at SS, some scouts believe he’ll be moved to third base to offset his subpar defense while taking advantage of his arm.
